I agree with this version since only the dragon is important. This keeps from having to "ban" stuff and at the same time keep with the "dragon is a badass" theme. _________________ Thanks,

I just want to make sure i understand the point size correctly. Is it 2000 pts spent on your army, then you get a free dragon? Or is it 2000 pts, 300 of which must be spent on a dragon and 1700 pts on your army? |

The former. Build a 2K list. Then add a 300 point dragon for free. _________________ Rush - Warpstone Pile

Good call.
Hey, Bill. Can I bring my indie list Chaos Dwarves, or do I need to use Ravening Hordes? _________________ There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old's life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged.
One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs. |

This seems less than friendly to me. Little is known of chaos dwarves as it is, there will be almost no time for people to be familiar with this very specialized rule set from warhammer forge. Not to mention no one knows how broken any of that stuff is likely to be. _________________ Gun control is leaving your demonsmith engineers close enough to re-roll the scatter on your artillery. |

Agree. The key is for army lists to be (relatively) available to tournament participants. The two CD lists are downloadable by anyone interested. A FW list... not so much. And since it won't have been out for at least a month by the time the tournament... who's to say anyone who's bought the thing will have received it in time?
I'd actually like for the group to collectively pick a CD book to use consistently. _________________ Rush - Warpstone Pile

Likely I'm using my Ogres, but the CD stuff is freely downloadable from FW right now. And the rumor mill has Tamurkhan as an official, tournament codex. It's all good. I know the Ogres will be fine. |

There won't be enough time for people to read the rules and catch you drastically misinterpreting the rules. Yes i said it _________________ I lose cause I can |

Magic spells at the dragon....
Can a spell(not a direct damage spell) be cast at a Dragon, without irresistible force, and still work on the rider(if it has one)? Or is the magical effect on the whole model?
Example would be casting itchy nuisance, would this work on a rider? _________________ Joey

MAybe I'm missing something, but I thought all the dragons would be riderless. Correct me if I 'm wrong, but doesn't each list get a SoM dragon for 300 points? If a list has two dragons (not sure if possible) would only the SoM dragon count for all of the various Dragon Wars scoring? _________________ There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old's life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged.

All dragons are magical creatures.
Every list gets their SoM dragon.
Every army consists of a 2000 points army, which may or may not include a dragon, depending on army restrictions and point restrictions. If you play against someone with 2 dragons you have a potential to get more dragon points but must kill both dragons to win the game. _________________ Joey

Pretty much, if you play against an Elf army, count on playing against 2 dragons. One SoM dragon, and one ridden dragon. Vampires....maybe two depending on the points.
I'm not sure if Bill is counting Wyverns, Jabberslythes, or Terroghiests as dragons this year. _________________ Thanks,
