I wouldn't stress too much about having 20 people signed up. Usually 1/4 don't make it to the event for whatever reason.

Thanks, Harry. Still could use more, folks. I'd hate to have to use proxies for lack of models to go around.

Starting now, I'd also like to get some firm commitments to bring mats and terrain.

Yes, we have historically had a poor record of people showing up after committing to a tourney, but I think this one is going to be different. I've been talking it up for 2 months now, and I've had a lot of email and PMs confirming attendance.

Starting to wish I had gone for the preregistration angle, though. Planning would be much easier with a hard-and-fast head count. For our space, there's a huge difference between 16 people and 20 people.

I'd like to suggest a house rule we've already instituted for the Tamurkhan CD list. Instead of making K'dai Destroyers immune to damage from STR: 4- by modding the die roll, we've been just adding one to the "T" stat when the attack isn't magical. Makes it tough to wound, but not "Impossible". Impossible is a disappointing and irritating situation. Just a suggestion.

Agreed, Scott. You could also say the die roll is still modified by -1, but a 6 will always wound, regardless of magical attack or no.

This will be the rule in force for my tourney.

Don't have my book with me, but I was originally going to say that only the Legion of Azgorh Chaos DWarf list is legal. However, given that this is a tournament for (mostly) fun, and goofiness is the order of the day, I'll allow any of the forgeworld entries from Tamurkhan as SOM choices.

Bring a landship, if you want.

Registration is now closed!
I may have let it go too far, since we have 21 now.

Perverse to say it, but I really hope that some people flake out.

Ben, I think this is going to be a really fun tourney, and I will not ask anyone to bow out on purpose. In fact, I'd strongly discourage you from doing so. Just keep your fingers crossed for a few no-shows so that we don't get too cramped.

I will need some help on a lot of stuff, but I think others will pitch in as needed if I ask.

I'm amped.

First round, I'm hoping to try for pairings of new opponents. There is a good number of ICGC guys, so we'll have a kind of inter-club showdown in Round 1... ICGC guys will get their shot at the Chaos Dwarves first.

Rule packs are pretty much done now. Here is the schedule and the plan for determining winners.

Here is the approximate schedule I am hoping we can follow:
11:00 Donate your toy, give a copy of your list to the TO, give extra donations to TO, get reroll counters, help set up.
11:30 Pairings are set, people move around as needed, Q&A on format, TO rambles for a bit.
11:45 Start Round 1
2:15 End of Round 1, lunch break, don’t forget to bid on silent auction stuff.
2:45 Start Round 2
5:15 End Round 2, short break, another chance to bid on silent auction stuff.
5:30 Start Round 3
8:00 End of Round 3, don’t forget to turn in your ranking of opponents.
8:15 End of Silent auction, pay the TO or assistant if you have high bid
8:30 Winners announced, prizes given out.
8:00 – 9:00 Pack up and help with the tear-down.

Prizes and winners - There will be three awards, plus an extra prize:
•Best Overall – Highest point total from scenario points, sportsmanship, paint, objective, and theme.

•Best General – Best record in the tourney (win/loss/tie on scenario main objectives.) Tie-breaker is scenario points. Second tie breaker, if needed, is my favorite objective marker.

•Grace under Fire – Prize goes to the highest sportsmanship score of someone without a win (i.e. only losses or ties on the main scenario objectives). Tie-breaker is my favorite objective marker.

•Additional prize given for the largest total proceeds from donations to the silent auction and/or toy pile

That's the plan.
