I was about to make a list at 2500 and add 500 SoM points I will go back and reread, but I thought SoM was an additional 25% worth of monsters/magic and I thought you were doing the same at only 500 points. So now I am clear and will reread my Rulebook a bit more before asking silly questions
So I am need of 2 fulcrums(painted) and 2500 total points worth of an Army. |
Sorry it's kinda confusing! _________________ Rush - Warpstone Pile

Rush/Rich, my real name is Jeff. We played against each other in the final round of the most recent 40k tournament. |

Actually, scratch me. I'm going to do a tournament in Rockville the week after (Beltway Gamers) and have to ration my kitchen passes. _________________ There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old's life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged.
One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs. |

I knew that... I'm just terrible with names and that was, like, more than a week ago. Sorry!

Rich, Sorry to be difficult but I am wondering about army percentages. I am writing up a few lists and am struggling with points. I feel like my army is suffering in different catagories because I wanna take some SoM monsters in it. Can we not just say 2500 pts list all around and just use some(up to 500) of those points on SoM Items/Monsters. I think I am getting hosed on my percentages at only 500 each.
I also wonder, if my suggestion doesn't go over well, what if I only use 275 points on SoM stuff, is my army then based on 2225 and then 556 on Lords and such or must I use 2000 with SoM and 2500 without?
Thanks _________________ Joey

You're not being difficult; that's exactly what you should be doing. It got lost upthread, I think, but you should be basing your percentages on 2,500.
So:
625+ Core
0 - 625 Lords
0 - 625 Heroes
0 - 1250 Special
0 - 625 Rare
0 - 500 Storm of Magic
I'll restate this in the initial post. _________________ Rush - Warpstone Pile

It's because I'm trying to accommodate both:
- 2,500 point armies from people don't have the book / want to fuss with the Scrolls of Binding
- 2,000 point Storm of Magic armies (that get 25% extra points, which works out to 500)
Basing percentages off of the full 2,500 points is to simplify things and, hopefully, make life easier for everyone. |
It was the 2000 point SoM armies thing that threw me off
But I got it now, that extra 125 pts in Lord is gonna win it for me...Muhahahahahaha _________________ Joey

We got in a game last night: more than anything else, make sure you know your Cataclysm spells & Cantrips! It'll speed things up a lot. _________________ Rush - Warpstone Pile

Will a copy of the special Storm of Magic cards be on the tables for use during the tournament? |

No. If folks have them, they're encouraged to bring them... but I don't have six copies of them.
If you don't have them, you can tell me the Lores you plan to bring and I'll print out a cheat sheet from Army Builder, however. _________________ Rush - Warpstone Pile

I have all my spells, but I don't have the book, so I don't have the cantrips. I don't really care about the Presence, Equilibrium, and Domination spells. Oh well, looks like I'll have to make do. |

Trying very hard to keep it from being required.

I dunno, man. If it hadn't been for Feast of the Fallen, Casey'd be walkin' around funny today. Just sayin'!
I can print out the cantrips for you. _________________ Rush - Warpstone Pile

Any chance I can back out? I'm not feeling like doing Storm of Magic, plus I'd rather spend the day at Huzzah. |

I guess I'm giving somebody a better chance at winning. I think that I can still make it, but life has kept me from getting anything painted.
If it is an odd number of players, then I can play ringer or sit out. _________________ Thanks,
