I have 2 armies I am tormenting over. High Elves and O@G. I cannot
decide which one to use. I want one horde unit, 1 decent support unit
and several blocking units. I also want a good leader, and magic support.
I can totally do that with the Orcs, but the elves come up a little short.
The nice thing about the Orcs is they have a decent amount of war machines. The Orcs also allow for me to have more units which is always
better for me because it allows me to make a mistake or two. Against the
gutstar unit I could throw 4 bolt throwers, 2 lobbers, and 2 doom divers.
These war machines would also be great against a dwarf gunline.

I would use the orcs so you can get cheap wizards and use fanatics, doom divers, and mangler squigs.

Sounds like you already chose Orbs n Goblins. I practically gave mine away, and in my hands were horrible on my good days. But I have seen them do well.

I say go with Empire Wink

I'd bring if O&G if you want.

I'd bring HE if you want to not win and bitterly complain after the tournament that next year you're going to bring a hard list like all those other guys and this time you're serious.

I'm wondering if the old "checkerboard" tactic from early 6th/revening horde days is worth pursuing, especially with cheap armies like O&G or skaven.

Forget hordes, build 3-4 deeply ranked units that are intended to meet a power unit and hold it either for a long time or until help can arrive on the flanks. A goblin unit of 50 could have 10 ranks, for a mere 200 points... that could hold up just about anything for 2-3 combat rounds, assuming the BSB and general are near enough.

I'm keen to try 50 gobbos, 50 night gobbos, 40 orcs jammed right up the middle, with a big un unit and black orc unit available to hit flanks, mangler squig and giant to hold my own flanks, and some war machines for support. A bit vulnerable to magic, but I am thinking that it could be competitive.

Wish I could find my dwarves.. I'd play a list that would make Ogre's go vegetarian.

Has anyone managed to successfully register and pay yet? I keep getting screens asking me to join Twitter or Facebook, but nothing that seems to allow me to actually register for the event...

Am I missing something?

The word on this is that the paypal link will be posted when conflict is over.
It is over so the link should be posted anytime now. I would imagine there are many waiting for this so we need to stay on top of this so we can all
get a spot.

looks like Ben is the Hotel guy! Here is a note sent to all....

Hey guys,

As you all know there will only be three slots for WHFB after this evening up for sale.  We will hit 80 players if we can fill those last three slots.

The War Store will be joining us at this event and will be in the VFW on the first floor....make sure you stop by with them and say hello.  They should be doing some raffle drawings and will be providing a generous amount of Prize Support.

I have been asked by some players how goes the Prize Support, as last year.  Well so far, we have received suppport from Reaper Miniatures, Maplewood Hobby, and from the Game Well in Michigan.  I am waiting on support from GF9 and Battle Foam.  The swords will be purchased soon, I will see if I can post pictures of those up as soon as I can.  The War Store will be providing online Gift Coupons for the event, plus their raffle drawings and physical Merchandise.  The Game Room in Woodbridge mall will also be contributing prize support.  As you all know Games Workshop will be providing online coupons for the top three winners of each system, and a Throne of Skulls ticket for each stem.  Privateer Press will also be donating some prize support for our Warmachnine events.  Our sponsors can be seen on our sponsors page, and as I get commitments from new ones, I will place them on the sponsors page.   The boys from the Mechanicon GT are also throwing in some goodies and support for all gamers!

The ticket swaps are still happening, please view the tournament packet to see where tickets are being offered for the awards.  Jester's Playhouse event is the second weekend in March for a 40k Qualifier Colonial Ticket, please contact the store for more information.  609-677-9088.

If you are ready to rent your hotels rooms for the event, Ben Jones from VA has been in contact with the Crowne Plaza and have was given some decent room rates,  he may be contacted on Face Book or here (bjones8297@verizon.net).  He can provide the information on these rates.

MM

I noticed that Andy, Casey, Corey, Eric and Kelly are not listed as "Chantilly Gaming Legion"
I know Casey has attempted to fix this, has anyone else. I could send an e-mail to include all, if no one objects.

I think this will make a good showing as a group and get us more recognized as a group. Plus it will look kook to have so many of our names included Wink

Warmongers I think have the most with 11 names, we could be a close second with 9 Very Happy
