I expect this to get close to $300k.

It's tracking a lot and I know of a few people sitting out until the end.

Pretty exciting, I think I'm doing the $175 for Orcs and then 3 of the $25 extras. Probably Werewolves, Mummies, and Evil Dwarves.

Yeah I am at $175 and debating $275 for a second army. Huzzah has their (very) limited selection of Mantic on sale for 20% off (Heeellllloooooooooo GPC), so I snagged the 30X Orc Axe Regiment from them. $35 for 30 Orcs, not bad at all. Of course, they are only HW+Shield, but that's OK as they can back fill units.

Yeah, I'm figuring that the Mantic Orcs can make good HW + Shield Boys and the Morax guys, with some green stuff, can make good Black Orcs. After that I plan on using GW Savage Orcs as Savage Orc Big 'Uns. I think it'll work out well.

They did ~$13K overnight last night. I think they can do it.

So what does $75 get you?

And does anyone know anything about Kings of War? Any reviews? Is it going to be fun? I am getting tired of GW and the way they run the business and this may be a nice change of pace.

It's on the page, but, one of the following:

Undead – 20 Skeletons, 20 Zombies and 10 Ghouls.

Orcs – 10 Gore Riders, 20 Orc Ax Warriors, Orclings.

Dwarfs – 20 Ironclad Warriors, 10 Ironwatch, 10 Shieldbreakers and 2 Ironbelcher Cannons with crew.

Elves – 20 Spearmen, 20 Bowmen, 10 Scouts and 2 Bolt Throwers with crew.

It'd be nuts to only go in for $75. They're flinging so much extra crap at you starting at the $100 level, and the sets available at the $100 level are somewhat bigger, if you're in for $75, you might as well push on to $100.

Thanks. I didn't really understand what they have listed. Not sure how many models and whatnot. How much more does the 100$ get you?

And anyone know anything about the game? Is anyone going to play or just use them for GW models?

I will read the rules, but unless it catches my attention, I like 8th well enough that it would be difficult to convert me.

I'm guessing the full rulebook is similar to the rules before, if so I think it's a good set of rules. I think it's a great set of rules for 15mm and could scale up to 4000 point Warhammer sized games better than Warhammer does, but it isn't as detailed as Warhammer so smaller games might not feel as deep or interesting.

The download rules are very simplistic. Lets hope these new ones are a little more detailed. I see they have a second edition for downloadable rules. The first one had 12 pages and the second 23 the new one will be like 56pg. No magic thus far. Mmmm. Not much in the way of customization of characters. I would like to see the new rules before committing to anything. I already have manic ghouls and skellys. Not bad.

I don't think simple is bad, DBA and Mighty Armies are two of my favorite games and are stupidly simple, but I don't want to paint 200+ 28mm figures for a simple game. 50 15mm figures, sure, but if I'm going to paint lots of heroic sized figures I want them to do cool things.

I'm going to assume Undead, but the skip up Orcs/Dwarves/Elves is comparable.

$75 gets you
Rulebook
10 Dice
20 Skeletons, 20 Zombies, 10 Ghouls

$100 gets you
Rulebook
10 Dice
40 Skeletons, 20 Revenants, 30 Zombies, 10 Ghouls
Undead Skeletal Dog Handler
Plastic Ogre Hero
1 Human Paladin
1 Man at Arms
1 Angel Paladin
1 Battle Sister
1 Palace Guard
1 Brock Rider
1 Gargoyle
1 Mummy
1 Troll
1 Orc Chariot

So, quite a bit more stuff. Even more at $175, and even more at $225.

Did my part... I have no idea if a small company the size of Mantic can adsorb this much financing all at once, but given the amount of stuff included in a single pledge, it seemed like an amazing value for the investment. So, I decided to go in for $175. I decided to jump in with only 24 minutes left.

Looks like my wife might get that undead army she was interested in after all!

Even if i don't use it all, the potential number of extra bits for kit bashing is amazing!

cheers!

354k total.

Gimme my stuff!

That is almost 400 models, ranging from infantry to cavalry to monstrous of both to chariots, along with rule books dice etc for under $300. That's pretty damned impressive especially if the concept art is accurate.
