Alrighty, all. Here are the missions!
Games will be won by scoring Game Points. Game Points can be earned in the following manner:
Scoring a Kill Point: 1 point each
Capturing a Quarter Objective: 2 points each
Capturing the Center Objective: 3 points
First Blood: 1 point
Slay the Warlord: 1 point
Linebreaker: 1 point
Game Points are used to determine your Battle Points.
If you have...
...half as many Game Points as opponent or less: 0 Battle Points
...3 fewer points than opponent: 2 points
...1 or 2 fewer points than opponent: 3 points
...tied opponent in points: 5 points
...1 or 2 more points than opponent: 7 points
...3 or more points than opponent: 8 points
...double or more points than opponent: 10 points
The person with the most Battle Points wins the game. Game Points will be used for tie-breaking purposes.
The Center Objective will be a Mysterious Objective, all the others will be normal. The Night Fighting special rule will be in effect for all rounds.
Deployment will vary for each round:
Round 1: Dawn of War
Round 2: Hammer & Anvil, Fast Attack can claim objectives
Round 3: Vanguard Strike, Heavy Support can claim objectives
Each game, you’ll rate the sportsmanship of your opponent on a scale of 1-5 and their army appearance on a scale of 1-10.
Awards:
Best Overall goes to the player with the most total points (Battle Points, Sportsmanship, and Painting).
Best General goes to the player with the most Battle Points (second highest if highest also wins Best Overall).
Best Painted goes to the player with the highest painting score. Each player will receive a paint score between 0-40. This score is calculated by adding up the points from each opponent, plus the score from the organizer (me).

Probably going to be a no, but is Forgeworld stuff a go? And I don't mean super heavies, I mean the stuff that was designed for 40k, like the Contemptors/Dreadnaught/Land Raider Variants.
If not cool, I just wanted to ask.

Also it has been brought up over on the IFL forums so I will ask here.
Can you confirm if the new DA Codex set to come out soon (as per leaked web photos) will be accepted at this tournament. Just so people who have DA armies can dust them off or not for this. |

As excited as I am about the new book, _God_ I hope not. The tournament's three weeks away; if it were announced Friday, that'd give people all of two whole weeks to read/learn the book.

I think we've all played games with someone who doesn't understand how their book works. In the context of a tournament, it's deeply unpleasant and makes the game take waaaay longer than it should.

Even if it does come out beforehand, you cannot play it. Sorry, but it's too last minute.
I know there are a lot of you chomping at the bit for this codex, but it won't be out for two weeks, at earliest, and that would give you very little time to learn the book, let alone get in some practice games with it.

Could I (Judd Hunter) please be added to the wait list? I'll PM as well. I didn't register earlier because I don't really have enough shipshape models to compete, and I freely admit that I need a bit more practice before I enter things like this. But if a spot opens up I think I can bring enough points to play something.
That said, I think these small (ish) tournaments are really cool. Are there any plans for more of these before NOVA? I would love to be a part of those.

I have no plans of running another one before NOVA, but considering the large response to this one, I'm sure someone else will do one between now and then.
