Ladies and Gents

We will be hosting a 2500 point Warhammer Fantasy Tournament on Saturday, August 24, at Games Parlor in Chantilly, VA. This will be a three game event and will feature a Grand Prize of a free ticket to play in the annual Colonial GT in New Jersey in November.

Rules, sign up, and Paypal link will be posted by the end of May.

The cost of admittance will be $15 and there will be up to 20 spots available.

Fantasy Rules

To be held on Saturday August 24, 2013 at Games Parlor in Chantilly, VA

Army Size: 2500 points

Lords - Up to 25% (0 to 625)
Heroes - Up to 25% (0 to 625)
Core - 25% or More (625 plus)
Special - Up to 50% (0 to 1250)
Rare - Up to 25% (0 to 625)

Fee: $15.00 Buy In

Awards will be given for the Best Overall, Best General, and "Smoking Boots".
The Grand Prize to the Overall Winner is a free admission ticket to play in the annual The Colonial GT held in New Jersey in November.

Winning Scores will be the highest points accumulated between battle points, objective points, and painting points. Fees can be paid to me in person or via a Gift on PayPal to bjones8297@verizon.net

Bring extra cash as there will be the opportunity to purchase Mulligans (rerolls) and bonus ability cards.

Mulligans can be bought $2.00 for one re-roll each, or $5.00 gets you three. They can be used to re-roll any single die during the game at any time. All re-rolls can be used at the same time, during the same game, or spread out through all three games. Still, however, know that re-rolls can not be re-rolled. A "die" is considered any 6 sided "die" used in the game; so it can be a regualar d6, d3, scatter, or artillery die. Once used, they're gone. Not used, same thing. No Refunds. Cap on Mulligans purchased will be 9.

Bonus ability cards can be bought for $2.00 each or $5.00 for three. These can only be used once, and only one card can be used during a game. Once used, they're gone. Not used, same thing. Bonus cards are randomly chosen. First come, first dealt. Not used, too bad, No Refunds. Max of 3 purchased (obviously) Wink

A total of 3 games will be played using Random Scenarios. Games will be played within a scheduled time/turn limit that will not exceed a 2.5 hour time slot. Score sheets will need to be turned in within 5 minutes of the ending time for the game, or a negative score will be given.

11am to 11:45am - Registration, table assignments, and Paint judging
12 noon to 2:30pm - Game 1
2:30pm to 3:15pm - Lunch (paint judging)
3:30pm to 6pm - Game 2
6:15pm to 8:30pm - Game 3
Awards directly after clean up
Hooters for Beer directly after that. Very Happy

Battle Points by Victory Points

0-300 pts ................... Draw ............................. 10 pts & 10 pts
301-800 pts ............... Squeeked Victory........ 12 pts & 8 pts
801- 1300 pts .............. Minor Victory .............. 14 pts & 6 pts
1301-1800 pts ............ Solid Victory ............... 16 pts & 4 pts
1801-2300 pts ............ Major Victory ............. 18 pts & 2 pts
2301+ pts .................... Massacre ..................... 20 pts & 0 pts

Objective Points for scoring - Up to 4 bonus points per game

Painting is not required, but will be worth bonus points towards score. Paint score will be by player votes. Players will score other's armies by ranking them Best to Worst. Each player's total of all rankings will be divided by the number of players. This will be added to the overall score.

General Rules:

All armies must be a Games Workshop approved army. No fan made armies accepted.
Chaos Dwarfs from the Tamurkhan book are allowed.
To match the Colonial GT rules, only Kairos Fateweaver (Daemons) and Thorek (Dwarfs) are not allowed. All other special characters are fair game within the points restrictions.
So far, banned items will be:
The Folding Fortress (BRB)
The Portalglyph (Daemons)
The Rock of Inevitability (Daemons)

To match The Colonial GT rules, the following unit restrictions will also be in place:
No core unit will start with more than 50 models (including characters)
No Special or Rare unit will start with more than 40 models (including characters)
No cavalry unit will be larger than 15 models (including characters)
No monstrous infantry unit will be larger than 18 models (including characters)
A Maximun of 6 total war machines (troop type) in your army with a maximum of two of the same type.

There will be a restriction on MONSTROUS CAVALRY AND BEASTS to match Colonial rules:
No more than 3 Monstrous Cavalry models in a unit (not counting characters) and No more than 6 total MC models in the entire Army
No more than 6 Monstrous Beasts models in the entire Army. This can be one unit or a combo of multiple.

Power and Dispel Dice will max out at 12 dice per phase regardless of source with the exception of Skaven Warpstone Tokens, Power Stone, or O&G Mushroom. So, if you roll double sixes for the pool, then the lore of Death attribute is void, Slanns don't get their free die, etc.
Rule decisions by the TO are final.
All Terrain Features will be Mysterious Terrain and determined by a Die roll each game by the players involved.
Terrain Features will be fixed for each game and player's sides will be fixed (no need to roll for sides or terrain deployment).
All buildings will be impassible and will block line of sight.

Participation is limited to 20 players and will require a pre registration to ensure adequate space.

Thanks again for all those that made it out. I'm hopeful that we can use this as a stepping stone to grow the event and get more involved in the Colonial as it is a great event and a fun time.

I hope that the scenarios were simple and fun and I'm a huge fan of the bonus stuff. I'm always open to comments and suggestions on how to make it better and bigger.

Congrats to Brad on winning Best Overall and getting a free ticket to the Colonial GT in November. Congrats to Andy on winning Best General with those Greenskins. Congrats to Tim for getting the Smoking Boots Award or the "better luck next time". A big Thank You to Harry for stepping in to give a hand with filling in as a Ringer.
