Who is going to this. I was looking into registering and didnt realize is like $105 for Fantasy entry. Am I right? Just seems a tad high to me. Although 6 games is pretty inviting,. Also hoping for a bit more participation from the fantasy point of view. So, I am just asking if you are heading into Crystal City for this?

I am registered and planning to participate in the fantasy event. For me NOVA is very local (about 3 metro stops away local). So while the registration is a bit high, the money I am not spending on a room more than makes up for it in my opinion.

Last year they promised 6 and just cut it to 5.
Despite the unprofessionalism and price point, I certainly will be going considering how close it is. |

Nope! No one has released all the pirate dwarf models they've been threatening us with (ahem- Avatars of War) so my guys are not totally finished.
I've been cranking out the Space Wolves since January and that's what I'm bringing to NOVA.

I've been thinking about attending. Like someone else said, it is a lot of money for what is really medium-sized tournament. When I went two years ago there were about 35 players. That's a good number for a D.C.-area tournament - but I can go to a tournament with about half as many players for $15-20. Having said that, it is very close. . . .

I played Fantasy last year, and I am much happier paying the high price and getting 8 40k games. Even though it'll likely kill me.

I just got a response about sign up deadline, and Laurie said you can sign up at the Convention, just cost $5 after August 17.
I am going this route as painting isn't fast enough for me and they aren't allowing refunds for slow painters.
On a Fantasy note..
There are rules for bonus point that require unit str 5 to obtain. With 8th edition having no such thing I asked about it, receiving this answer....
The answer is:
"Unit strength is the amount of models in a unit. 5 rank and file infantry models: Unit Strength 5. Monstrous infantry need 3 models to count as Unit Strength 5."
Hope this answers your questions, and thanks for your patience!

Reason #101 why I'm not going. I miss 7th, but you can't flip flop like that as it is too confusing in a fast paced setting.

I'm going to DragonCon instead, they're on the same weekend, but I'll be rooting for all of you! If there's anything I can do to be of assistance I'll be glad to help. I have a medley of painted IG infantry and vehicles I can loan, and if people want practice games using the NOVA open mission formats I can help out there as well.

Ok, I am now paid and pressure is on to paint. I mean paint enough to be legal 
I also signed up for airbrush show and tell Saturday at 10 pm. Bad time, but the only one I can fit into the busy weekend schedule. I am really interested in getting airbrush stuff and have asked around but I think actually seeing it in action will help my decision.

If any of you are being wishy-washy about Fantasy but haven't bought your ticket yet- you should decide quickly. Only 6 spots of 64 remain, as of yesterday.
