So, I've been in Japan about three months now, and basically haven't even stepped foot in a hobby shop. Been plenty of other things keeping me busy, like....Japan. I've also been doing a lot more reading, and recently I picked up the latest book by Brandon Sanderson, Steelheart.
I'm not writing a review, but I enjoy most of his writing, and this wasn't any different. It is set in a world where some humans have gained super powers, but for unknown reasons they all turn evil villain rather than good guy, and the story is about a group of average humans that take on the bad guys to prove that they still can; the main bad guy being Steelheart.
I think Sanderson has pushed this novel out with a lot of marketing behind it, and you can find it in major outlets like Walmart and Target in addition to the usual book outlets, so he's working very hard to make it a success. Part of this effort includes a special scavenger hunt called the Steelhunt, where he leaves links to special websites in some of the books that let the users get a sneak peak at other work, like samples from forthcoming books and artwork.
I was fortunate enough to get one of these codes, because I suppose I was tenacious in tracking down the book in hardback in Japan, which was not an easy task. The rules of the hunt basically allow me to share the code, but not on major public sites, twitter, etc. So, knowing some of you are likely fantasy readers, I would like to offer to share my code with you.
The caveat is that I also want to support the writer's efforts, so if you would like a code, please pm me with some proof you have bought the book, and the code is yours. Picture of you with the book, you with your kindle showing the book, NOT of you doing anything untoward with the book, (no thank you congressman). I'll even take a screenshot of proof you have the audio edition.
Thanks for reading this far!
