Ben,

do you plan on posting any more details about this tournament? For example, how scoring will be done; more information on the scenarios? Just looking to see if more information will be coming before I start thinking about a list.

Also, will round 2 and 3 be based on the Swiss system?

The scoring will be the breakdown in victory points like our usual, only smaller windows due to the reduction in army points. They will be worth the 0-20.
The scenarios will be very very similar to ones that I've used in the past. They will be based on the ones in the rule book with a slight change to balance out for special characters. Painting will be the same, by player rankings. Admin points are based on the list submission and game sheet filing, and times. Round 1 game will be by random selection trying not to pair up players from the same group. Rounds 2 and 3 will be paired as close as I can by battle points (sum of battle and bonus).
All terrain will be preset and all water features and forests will be mysterious terrain (roll each game when encountered).

Come on out and bring many many friends. Very Happy

Well, I had hoped I'd have a few practice games under my belt already. I don't know if I feel comfortable going into a tournament cold, barely knowing the rules. So I'm probably not going to participate after all

Nah, come on out. The owner wanted it to be a "beginner's" event anyway, that's why there are no special restrictions, and FREE. I promise the scenarios are simple, too. Wink

I just didn't want to be a burden on my opponents... In a casual setting it would be fine, but in a tournament, where time is a factor, I don't want to be a drag or a nuisance.

Not as big a deal as you may think. It's a free tournament! Probably all the same people from game parlor, and just tell your opponent you are still kinda learning and they will help out I am sure. Just be as prepared as you can and remember as long as your opponent wins, he won't care how bad you are Laughing

Just come out, guaranteed fun, no pressure.....except what you put on yourself Wink

If someone else decides to show up in a kilt I demand that Bill be forced to play them in one of the games. Razz
