40k Highlander tournament at GameVault - 5/3/14

Points: 1850pts
Entry Fee: $10. Prizes are 1st - 40%, 2nd - 30%, 3rd - 20%, Best Painted 10%
Painting: not required, but any grey plastic forbids Best Painted consideration.
Missions: Book & Battlepoints
Format: 'Highlander'
You may only take one of each unit selection*. We do not care if you can take multiple units per FOC slot (ex: SW HQ, Daemon Heralds), just as long as they are different unit choices. We do not care about what FOC slot it occupies, you can only take one of each. Allies detachments operate under the same rules (as a detachment) as the Primary detachment. Squadrons are fine, as long as they are different unit selections (ex: A squadron of Leman Russ Exterminator, Demolisher, and Punisher)

This should provide a nice break from the meta and get everybody to try some different lists, different units, etc.

*The only exception is troops. With troops choices, you must take one of every troop choice before repeating a troop choice.

Various examples:
- With CSM and a Nurgle Lord (who makes Plague Marines troops), you can take Plague Marines, Chaos Space Marines, and Cultists THEN you can take one more unit of Plague Marines, Chaos Space Marines, and Cultists.
- Necrons could take 3 Necron Warriors and 3 Immortals (take a warrior, take an Immortal, repeat, repeat)
- You CAN take a Herald of Slaneesh, a Herald of Khorne, a Herald of Tzeentch, and a Herald of Nurgle in one FOC slot, but you CANNOT take 2-4 Tzeentch Heralds.
- You can only take one Land Raider Crusader, regardless of whether it was taken as a dedicated transport or from a Heavy slot, but can also take a stock Land Raider, and a Land Raider Redeemer, as they are all different unit selections.
- Tau/Farsight /could/ take a unit of Firewarriors, and Kroot for troops and a unit of Crisis Suits. His Farsight allies could then be Firewarriors, Kroot, and Crisis Suits (they are troops under Farsight). Kind of a cheese move, but allowed.
