Your Hobby Place presents the Annual Event: Wrath of Da Grate Punkin!

Date: November 1st
Where: Your Hobby Place, Martinsburg WV
When: 12pm
Cost: A nominal $10 fee

What should I do to get ready for some spooktacular fun? Craft a list of 2800 points, using standard rules as appropriate in your Warhammer armybook and rules from The End Times. Next conjure up four copies of your army list. Pack up your good humor, holy wards and good spirits. Make the trek to YHP through the ghost filled lands of Martinsburg, and get ready for some terrifyingly good fun! Good cheer will abound, hopefully keeping the evil spirits at bay, because they do like to bay don't they?

However, be warned traveler…this is not an event for the faint of heart. Many players seeking to lay claim to Da Grate Punkin have ended up bloodied and battered, their sanity shattered, never the same again. Things are never as they seem when the Orb of Death enters the realms of men. Your wards come in the form of Punkin Passes, arcane objects of great power that ward against evil or invigorate its spread! Ye have been warned!

Details to follow!

Painting is not required but there are additional VP for having stuff painted, etc. There is a huge gaming area now, YHP just moved last month and the venue is awesome. Details for the tourney are forthcoming, as there is always some sort of wackiness. Ask Joey, he won the first Punkin tourney back in the day, its good fun.

So come on ghosts and ghouls! Any of you gitz got the courage to face Da Wrath of Da Grate Punkin? Looking to get a ...head count...for the festivities.

As a side, I know its a late start but the shop owner is gun-shy about opening early because the last few times he did, turnout was 3-4 people...if we know a good amount of folks are coming I think I can get him to open early for future events.

Either way, come on u and game on the 1st! heck out the new shop and the potential gaming space. Its pretty huge!

I would certainly like to play in this one year. This year I have PWS and am on a pretty limited free time schedule. The old store was fun to play at, so I can only assume that the new store is even better.

Hey Ben, its easily twice the floor space for gaming. You can see the new store from the old store so there isn't any adding drive time. Heck, it even has its own private rpg rooms and a kitchenette. Leaps and bounds bigger!

And once this tourney is done, we have the Doubles Tourney next month, where Chris and I plan to defend our title from last year...just saying...

Awesome!
Details will be forthcoming once we get past the Grate Punkin. I can tell you the Doubles tourney is set for the Saturday after Thanksgiving.

Went to the new store...wow! That place is awesome. Huge gaming area. Lots of models, paints and gaming supplies (as usual).

Sad that I cannot make the great pumpkin tournament, as I have to work.
Dont forget Dragon Wars is this weekend if any want to attend. Under the event section.

Hey Joe,
Yes! it is so much bigger and it doesn't feel crowded, lots of room for gaming. Shame you cant come but you know Da Kaptain is taking home all the gory himself!

All, I again invite you to come and game! New store and we appear to have a larger than normal amount of people coming to play! Scary Pub quiz has been added to the fun as well!

Just making sure it is a straight 2800 point list right? Also is no one else going from Chantilly?

Yessir,
Its 2800 points with End Times rules to help set the mood. Also a number of fun rules in the scenarios and if you bring a piece of themed terrain then you get an extra Punkin Pass! Punkin Passes are a great boon to have. By themed of course we me creepy or scary! These events always have wacky things happen so be of good cheer, its that time of year!

I'm planning on putting on a tournament February 7. Maybe I will look into having It there instead of Chantilly.

Dave asked me about maybe running a tournament of ours up at his store, said he would make it worthwhile...not sure what that means but hope it doesn't mean 2 year old shot glasses from a DC tournament Laughing

You should use the Coastal Carnage Rules Pack. That's the Mid Atlantic GT in Feb. Details will come out after next weekend.

If I don't move to Seattle I would totally go out there for another one. Not only is the gaming area really nice, but the shelves are stocked really well.

If that's what you want let me know and I will get you in touch with Dave to set it up for you.
