Quote: | COLONIAL CARNAGE 2015
The Mid Atlantics Fist Event of the 2015 Season.
The weekend for Colonial Carnage 2015 is Feb. 7th and 8th. It will be held at The Williamsburg Muster in Williamsburg Virginia.
LINK: http://www.wbconventions.org/home/wm
You paid WFB GT registration INCLUDES a convention pass. This is a historic war gaming convention that is fully supported by gaming companies and miniature manufactures. The event features a miniatures/game flea market, vendor raffles, giveaways, and plenty to do for kids. Your event pass also gets discounts at local restaurants, for example 15% off at the Pancake House next door. There is a lot to do and see, including the Colonial Carnage WFB Grand Tournament Event!
The folks at the Williamsburg Muster are very excited about having us join them at this event. There is a lot of potential to grow our tournament here and their convention so lets get out and show off our armies and skills!
This is right in the middle of historic Colonial Williamsburg. 10-15 minutes from the Yorktown Battle field where Eoin's people surrender a 20-0 battle to George Washington. It is also 10-15 minutes from the Jamestown Settlement. So there is a lot to do in this area; history, taverns, mocking certain English people you may know....
HOTEL INFO:
Holiday Inn Patriot Williamsburg
3032 Richmond Road
Williamsburg, VA
https://www.google.com/maps?q=3032+Richm...amsburg+VA
ALCOHOL is allowed.
Rooms will be available at a very special rate of $59 per night, just mention that you are with the Williamsburg Muster group, when you register by phone 757-565-2600.
Please register early! They ran out of rooms at earlier conventions, and the special registration rate expires 1 week before the convention!
This tournament will be using the same rules for the USA Masters event.
Scenarios will be updated in the next few weeks.
Schedule:
Check-in:
Friday After 4pm and Sat, 8:00am
Saturday
Round 1: 9am-11:45am
Lunch: 11:45am-12:45pm
Round 2: 12:45pm-3:30pm
Break: 3:30-4pm
Round 3: 4pm-6:45pm
Sunday
Round 4: 9am-11:45am
Lunch: 11:45am-12:45pm
Round 5: 12:45pm-3:30pm
Cleanup/awards: 4pm out and on the road by 5pm!
Army Restrictions: No special/named Characters.
All lists will be scored using the Swedish comp system. There will more than likely be new versions released before the event. There will be a cutoff around Jan 10th to freeze the Swede Comp that will be used.
Army lists will be set at 2500 points. You cannot be over, and can only be under by 25 points max.
Find it HERE
The range for Swede comp will be 8 to 14. No list below an 8.0 will be allowed. Any list scoring above a 14.0 will be treated as a 14.0 for comp purposes.
FAQ/ERRATA:
We will be using the Masters FAQ document which will be linked here when complete.
Scenarios:
Under work and I am willing to hear feedback on what you like. Start a thread!
Scoring:
0-20 system
VP diff ---- Score
<150 10-10
150-299 11-9
300-449 12-8
450-599 13-7
600-749 14-6
750-899 15-5
900-1049 16-4
1050-1199 17-3
1200-1349 18-2
1350-1499 19-1
1500+ 20-0
Units that are fleeing at the end of the game, or are at or below 25% of their starting count, yield 50% of their VPs.
In Addition: We are using Swede "Active" comp. This means that you take the difference of your swede score, and your opponents swede score, multiply by 100, and add it to the VP total of the player with the higher swede score.
For example, if I am playing Bob. My score is a 8.3, Bob's score is a 12.6, we would take the difference(4.3*100) and end up adding 430vps to Bob's total before figuring out the 20-0 scale.
Painting:
Painting will be worth 30 points total at this event. There is a 3 color minimum to play in this event. Doing the absolute minimum to play will result in your paint score being ~5/30. A check list very similar to the Masters with be used to grade armies.
Fully Painted Armies ARE REQUIRED.
Sportsmanship:
Sportsmanship is also worth 20 points.
Everyone starts with 10.
+2 for turning in your list by January 24th at 11:59 pm.
+3 for paying before January 10th
Pass Fail System for 5 games
Pass = zero points
Fail = -2 points
Best opponent = +1 point
Late list and Registration penalty:
Registration cost will rise to $55 for payments after January 10th.
Lists turned in past the February 1st will have an additional -5 battle points penalized.
Cost:
Cost for registering is $45, THIS INCLUDES YOUR WEEKEND EVENT PASS.
Email me at atwiatt@cox.net Your spot will not be secured until I receive payment, you will receive payment instructions upon signing up. You can pay for the event with paypal using my email atwiatt@cox.net
I suggest paying early this event will sell out asap!
Awards
Best Overall: Combination of Battle(100), Paint(30), Sports(20). Tiebreaker is Sportsmanship, then Higher Swede Comp score.
Best General: Highest Battle, Tie-breaker is higher swede comp.
Best Sports: Highest Sports score, Tie-breaker is Battle.
Best Painted: Highest Paint score. Tie-breaker is Judges Votes.
Players Choice: Most player choice votes, Tie-breaker is Judges vote.
Best Army: Coolest Army at the GT! This is based on judges votes. This is not a painting award. Think Theme and capturing the WFB world. Kind of a Judges choice award.
If terrain costs don't eat up all the money 2nd and 3rd places will be given out. I'm all about awards.
This is the first event for the 2015 MA Masters Circuit.

What is the Master's part entail?
You need to sign up for that too, or does just playing sign you up?
Don't you build points over the season? _________________ Joey

It's free, the tournaments just count towards it. You're the 3rd highest ranked player in our club due to your beating on me at Fowl. |

I was thinking of going. But would play yours if you had it
I don't know much about Masters stuff, if anyone can play or do I want to be a master and all but it may take away from anything local if others go to that. _________________ Joey

Whoohoo, so I am in it just by playing? 3rd is good......I guess for a casual gaming group ranking. Is this Colonial the beginning of a season and what happens at the end? Have a link to such information? _________________ Joey

Hmmm, why does the website not list the warhammer event at all? When I click on the registration link, it sends me to a guns of august event.
Edit: Sent my e-mail in to ask for a spot. I missed the part about e-mailing and then receiving payment information. _________________ Previously Arhain! |
