It's official! "Hammer in the New Year" is on the books.
Date: January 12, 2013
Time: 11:00 am
Place: Game Parlor in Chantilly, VA
Cost: $10, due at event
Points: 1750
It'll be 3 rounds, 2 1/2 hours each with a break for lunch after the first round. You may use both allies and fortifications if you so desire.
It is not required that your army be painted in order to play. Prizes will be store credit and a small trophy. EDIT 12/05: Since the response has been huge, it'll be 3 prizes: best overall, best general, and best painted.
Please bring an extra copy of your army list for your opponents, so you'll need 4 total.
Additionally, Harry has offered to do another run of the CGL shirts, if there's enough interest. It's 12 shirt minimum to order, so if you missed out the first time and still want one, say so in the forum post about Hammer in the New Year Tshirts.
There are now 20 slots (instead of the original 12), on a first come, first serve basis. Sign up here!

Am I allowed to proxy? Everything will be very distinguishable, and a second proxy list can be provided. |

What exactly are you trying to proxy for? The entire army or just a squad or two? _________________ Chickhammer

I'm in! It'll probably be my Codex Space Marines army, unless my Nids are ready and painted by then. _________________ -Mike H. |

I'm in. Not sure with what.
Also, since Ashley is my wife and running it she's promised to publish the missions well in advance. Nothing crazy, but she's trying to be up front about things. _________________ The Hammer Dialectic - Thoughts on Warhammer, Professional Wrestling, and Dialectical Materialism.

I'd like mention, too, that if there's a 12th person that wants to jump in, Casey has agreed to be the ringer instead of taking up that slot.
Obviously, I will also not be judging any rules questions that may arise in any of Casey's games. _________________ Chickhammer

I would be proxying the whole army, but fear not the list is very basic with only a few weapons upgrades given to models in the same unit. I'm talking all Tankbustas save 2 or 3 having normal gear and those that don't have Tankhammers. All models in unit X are the same, except for guy Y, but he looks different from the rest. I can send someone a list for approval. Given 2-3mins of explanation before games should be enough, and added lists can be provided to ease everything. The list isn't complex at all, and relies on exact duplicates of almost everything. |

Wait, are you trying to run an Ork army as something else, like Space Marines? _________________ The Hammer Dialectic - Thoughts on Warhammer, Professional Wrestling, and Dialectical Materialism.

I'm using Trollkin Champions as Mega-Nobz with Kombi-Shootas, boyz as Tankbustas, and Nobz as Flash Gitz. Oh and Battlewagons as Trukks. |

Since this is a tournament where you're playing people at random and we're all still getting used to the 6th edition rules, I have to say no.
Most tournaments enforce wizzywig but I should have specified that in my initial post. One or two models is all right, but I think that what you're proposing will take too much explanation in the time alotted and give a disadvantage to your opponents.
Sorry. I hope you have something else you could play. _________________ Chickhammer
