I feel like this is super sappy, but also obligatory. GPC has been a big place in the lives of many of us, so if y'all don't mind, I'd like to pour one out if you'd like to join me.

Game Parlor was actually where I took my wife on our first date (and she still married me). I figured, "She's going to have to know about this sooner or later," so I took her one night during the week when it was slow and we played Torres at one of the tables and that's how it all started.

I had a surprise dinner for my birthday last year, all but 1 of the 20+ friends that were there I met at Game Parlor.

Mine was driving out from Silver Spring to join the IFL in its first year of infancy, before clubs were vogue and meeting a bunch of fellow nerds that I have been friends with for decades now!

While I don't make it down from wild and wonderful, it is a place I will remember fondly

Dating Kim Twisted Evil

No seriously though too many to count. It's been so long, I remember things like Andrew seeing me and Cody basically grow up and laugh when we started having a conversation about paying taxes!

Loved the story of Joey getting heated with Cindy over 8th edition release products Smile Any and all tournaments. Let's see, meeting Harry when he played his lizards themed beastmen. Random Hooters nights with everyone. Travis' stupid dinosaur list played with coke cans and rubber toys.

The old pyramid!

While it was not in GPC, if it were not there it would have never happened. A team to the rescue of a domestic violence issue at eleven pm in the parking lot.

Lets see, loved Moe's Tournaments (my event mentor), Don "the Man" Mondo, yes, seeing Travis, Cody, and Corey grow up, shedding tears over Travis' Coke can Giant (laughter), shedding tears over Corey and Kim's breakup 😩....(different reason)
Meeting so many awesome people over 13 years both at the store and through events that our hobby group allowed us to be a part of. I even like a few people at the Woodbridge store. HAhaha...
Hooter's nights will HAVE to continue!

All the support for dragon wars over the years.

Lunch at the Italian place, during tournaments, slamming beers and eating terrible food

Watching Corey and Cody grow up

The A team lol

Moe's crazy tournaments

Spending thousands of dollars a year there and still asked for a dollar to play lol

Meeting my golf buddy

Meeting all my CGL friends

The IFL / CGL split

Being asked if had a daughter every time I broke out hello kitty stuff

Being told to be quiet by old annoying man cause his ears hurt, I laughed in his face and yelled NO

Two kids arguing that since a weapon broke off a model he could not longer attack with it.

That's for starters.........

It's where I fell in love with wargaming, because of all you guys.

I'd had some rough experiences with gaming back home but I stepped into GPC and you all welcomed me with open arms and warm smiles. The post-game beer sessions didn't hurt either. Very Happy I don't think I've ever properly thanked you guys for that, so thank you. Thank you so much.

I ran my first tournament there, got my a** whooped there, got better at the game there, and generally enjoyed my time there. My fondest memory might be the time I wiped out all of Bill's Sisters behind his defense line, took over his quad gun, and shot down his own flier with it. Sorry, Bill, but thanks for the great war story. Wink

I know I've been a little AWOL since I went back to school, but I'm so glad I got to know all of you and hope we can keep on gaming together.

The tournaments and seeing all the awesomely painted armies.

Watching Bill throw dice away over and over and over again.

All of Bill's armies and enjoying watching all those games.

Watching my Orks and then Necron getting crushed to the point that I switched to WFB.... then getting my butt handed to me when I played Chaos.

Using two dragons in dragon wars and still losing in HtH.

Looking at Sam Mackin while I was rolling a Look Out Sir for my BSB... and calling out the 1 I was going to roll.... and nailing it.

NINE! NINE! NINE!

I guess the biggest one for me is that I moved away twice these last 9 years and when I came back, most of the same folks were here. Some older, some greyer, some all grown up. But I always knew GPC was always there. Even now, I haven't been able to play because of the chaos in my life, but GPC was the place I knew I could eventually come back to. Looks like that is no longer the case.

Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad
