I really want to thank you all for coming out to Geek Life to playtest the new system, to put on a demo event for the local community (had 6 people stop by to chat about starting to play), and to have fun rolling dice. The Owner of Geek Life was super excited and appreciative for us having it at Geek Life and wants us back.
Congrats to Brad, Phil, and Brandon. The 9th Age scoring is a little different than events in the past and more focus is being put on objectives and victory points. I believe that this is to further balance the game (especially for ETC events) in which some players will play a "points denial" tactic, or "Castling" in order to achieve more or less Battle Points. This way, it balances it out, especially with the Victory Points accumulation inclusion, much like Brawlers Bash of old. (maybe due to the fact that OnceBitten is also on the 9th Age committee?) It helps that if two players have a blood bath of a game yet finish still with a 10-10 tie. Or the opposite, in which two players just sit there and still get a 10-10 tie.
The scoring of secondary objective points was also new and a pretty good point swing. Examples of such are that Brad got 9 total points for these and Jeremy took a -9 point hit. I am sure that future events will have this or have a version of their own objective scoring. I've been tasked by the 9th Age team to help develop a uniform tournament scoring system so the feedback from you guys and events like this, really help me along the process.
Another interesting data about the event and the new rules is that out of the 19 games played, the players that set up their entire army first only won 3 times and lost 8 times. So setting up first gives you a 15.78% chance of winning the game and a 42.10% chance of losing.
So now that the background rambling is done, here are the following Results of the event. Here are the Players, their armies, and their scores:
1. Brad C. - Dread Elves - 64...-...7059 VPs
2. Phil B. - Undying Legions - 54...-...5920 VPs
3. Brandon - Ogre Kingdoms - 47...-...6585 VPs
4. Joey - Vermin Swarms - 46...-...4453 VPs
5. Ben J. - Beast Herds - 42...-...4328 VPs
6. Jason - Kingdom of Equitaine - 40...-...4591 VPs
7. Corey - Highborn Elves - 35...-...3978 VPs
8. Kevin C. - Infernal Dwarfs - 32...-...4413 VPs
9. Cody - Orcs and Goblins - 31...-...3611 VPs
10. Andy - Empire of Sonnastahl - 25...-...2954 VPs
11. Ben N. - Orcs and Goblins - 24...-...2808 VPs
12. Jeremy - Warriors of the DG - 10...-...1636 VPs
13. Aaron - Vermin Swarms - 3...-...661 VPs **
14. Chris B. - Beast Herds - 2...-...0 VPs ** _________________ Thanks,

Thank you for having it on a Sunday Ben. I really appreciate that. As far as feedback to the committee goes, infantry is good and cavalry not so much. Between brawlers and this one my cav has been an utter waste of points. I wish this was not the case, but it is. I will be going all infantry going forward.

Just some more interesting stuff based on the worldwide data collected behind the scenes....maybe it will help army decisions....
Currently the weakest armies are: Warriors, Silvan Elves, O&G, and Empire.
The strongest are: Undying Legions, Vermin Swarms, and Dread Elves. _________________ Thanks,

haha.
The way they have it broken down is army vs army. Some data shows that certain armies just can't beat others...hmmm match up problems? Those will probably be fixed after the ETC exposes those. _________________ Thanks,
