|
|
OK, to make this thing official... It will be a one day, three game event using the ETC Rules as compiled by AR.COM. Small buy in with the bonus stuff for purchase. Fantasy Rules
To be held on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at Games Parlor in Chantilly, VA
Army Size: Base 2400 points, see ETC Rules for Army specifics
Fee: $15.00 Buy In ..........$30.00 gets you Max Mulligans and Cards
The Top 2 spots pay out. 1st Place and 2nd Place, unless more than 12 players.
Winning Scores will be the highest points accumulated between battle points, objective points, Admin points, and painting points. Fees can be paid to me in person or via a Gift on PayPal to bjones8297@verizon.net
Bring extra cash as there will be the opportunity to purchase Mulligans (rerolls) and bonus ability cards.
Mulligans can be bought $2.00 for one re-roll each, or $5.00 gets you three. They can be used to re-roll any single die during the game at any time. All re-rolls can be used at the same time, during the same game, or spread out through all three games. Still, however, know that re-rolls can not be re-rolled. A "die" is considered any 6 sided "die" used in the game; so it can be a regualar d6, d3, scatter, or artillery die. Once used, they're gone. Not used, same thing. No Refunds. Cap on Mulligans purchased will be 6.
Bonus ability cards can be bought for $2.00 each or $5.00 for three. These can only be used once, and only one card can be used during a game. Once used, they're gone. Not used, same thing. Bonus cards are randomly chosen. First come, first dealt. Not used, too bad, No Refunds. Max of 3 purchased (obviously)
A total of 3 games will be played using Random Scenarios. Games will be played within a scheduled time/turn limit that will not exceed a 2.5 hour time slot. Score sheets will need to be turned in within 5 minutes of the ending time for the game, or a negative score will be given.
11am to 11:45am - Registration, table assignments, and Paint judging
12 noon to 2:30pm - Game 1
2:30pm to 3:15pm - Lunch (paint judging)
3:30pm to 6pm - Game 2
6:15pm to 8:30pm - Game 3
Awards directly after clean up
Hooters for Beer directly after that.
Battle Points by difference in Victory Points. Break Down as per ETC Rules
Objective Points for scoring - Up to 4 bonus points per game
Painting & Army Theme Scores: Painting is not required, but could be worth bonus points towards score. Paint & Theme score will be by player votes. Players will score other's armies by ranking them Best to Worst. As it incorporates Army Theme/Build, it is possible that a well thought out army that isn't painted could score higher than a painted Min/Max army that just flies in under the ETC rule radar. Each player's total of all rankings will be divided by the number of players. This will be added to the overall score.
Admin Scores - If you have paid the fees for the event by Thursday, March 13, then you will be awarded 5 Admin bonus points.
If you have emailed in your army list by Thursday, March 13, then you will be awarded 5 bonus Admin Points. Armies can be sent in via pdf, excel, or Word. Army Builder will not accomodate some of the ETC army builds. If your army list is found to be incorrect, then you will lose 10 Admin Points. If your Army List is turned in the day of the Event (3/15) and found to be incorrect, then you will lose 15 Admin points. This score category can be negative and will deduct from your overall score. Score sheets for each game must be turned in as soon as time is called. Players who turn in their sheets prior to the time being called will earn 5 Admin Points. Players who have to redo their score sheets due to errors will be deducted 2 Admin Points. Players who fail to turn in a sheet within 10 minutes of Time being called will be deducted 5 Admin Points.
General ETC Rules in a nutshell:
No Special or Named Characters
ETC FAQ's will be used.
All and ANY Dice can only be re-rolled once regardless of rules! You are stuck with the result.
Power and Dispel Dice will max out at 12 dice per phase regardless of source. So, if you roll double sixes for the pool, then the lore of Death attribute is void, etc. You may only generate an additional 2 Power Dice from any source each magic phase.
There is a MAX limit of 5 dice to be used to cast any spell, unless it is Mindrazor, or any Lore of Death spell in which the MAX is 4 dice.
Rule decisions by the TO are final.
All Terrain Features will be Mysterious Terrain and determined by a Die roll each game by the players involved.
Terrain Features will be fixed for each game and player's sides will be fixed (no need to roll for sides or terrain deployment).
Buildings and Hill block line of sight. Refer to the Terrain features for ETC.

Terrain --
"Simple LoS" will be used:
Terrain pieces are divided into ones that:
- Block LoS: Hills, Buildings and impassable terrain.
- Don't block LoS: all other terrain.
Unit is considered to be in hard cover when:
- majority of unit's footprint is obscured from shooter's Line of Sight by an interfering unit or a LoS blocking terrain, as described on page 41 BRB
- unit is garrisoning a Building, as described on page 127 BRB
- unit is defending an obstacle, as described on page 122 BRB
- majority of unit's footprint is in Ruins
Unit is considered to be in soft cover when:
- your models shoot through or into woods, as described on page 119 BRB
Models shooting from hills or buildings don't get the hard cover penalty for shooting through interfering units, unless interfering unit is also on hill.
Units with majority of its footprint on hill do not receive hard cover for being shot at through interfering units, unless interfering unit is also on hill.
Large Targets can't claim cover for obstacles, ruins and interfering units.
Pairings: Due to space constraints at Games Parlor, Pairings will be random. The first game will be a random draw (unless two players volunteer to play their Grudge match). The second and third games will be paired by either the inside moving or the outside moving a random number of tables. This allows for you to only have to move your army once after the first game. _________________ Thanks,

Culpeper Comics and Gaming. A few months old. The owner says he was an IFLer from back in the day. It's in the TJ Maxx/Sports Authority shopping center next to Belk. Warhammer on Sundays. When are you coming up for a game now. _________________ Thanks,

Got you I thought. "No Banned Models" means no playing models that are banned. Not, there are no models that are banned.

I've played against Slug Tounge only once, and that one time he won the game before I even got a turn! |
