The U.S. is getting worse each day.
The government wants to take your internet away.
What ever happened to the government being by the people, for the people?
What ever happened to freedom?
Thank you Google, Yahoo!, Facebook, Twitter, AOL, LinkedIn, eBay, Mozilla Corporation, the Brookings Institution, the Wikimedia Foundation, Reporters Without Borders, the Electronic Frontier Foundation, the ACLU, Human Rights Watch, Nancy Pelosi, Darrell Issa, Ron Paul and all other corporations and people who are standing up for the people instead of the GREEDY lobbyists and CORRUPT politicians.
Vote the idiots who don't support us out. The ones who are bought out and only serving in a few corporations interests because of money.
Support the ones who stand up for the American people and corporations that side with the people. |

You know what would be awesome? If people like Ron Paul supported getting money out of politics so that corporate interests don't buy law makers to do their bidding. I guess it's cool that he's voting against this bill, which really only affects bourgeois internet nerds but whatever, but it'd be even better if he helped to advance a society in which such bills were never possible to begin with.
This, of course, just advances his ethic of advancing a cause he decries while having a token vote against it so he can look good.

shouldnt the companies that have the copyrights be responsible for their own copyrighted materials.
It also kind of feels like really bad timing for some debate like this doesnt congress have bigger issues to deal with right now. UMMM how about solving the evergrowing debt crisis were in or how about the multiple wars.
to me it seems like this is, not only the wrong thing to do, but its like their trying to destract themselves from solving bigger issues. _________________ been a long time since I have been on the forums

They've tried, but since it is impossible to take foreign sites such as The Pirate Bay down, they have to do it the other way - by blocking it. That is where SOPA comes in. Unfortunately SOPA is worded a little too strongly and allows for any site to get shut down that hosts copyrighted works. If I posted a copyrighted picture on this forum, this whole site would get shut down.
Of course, the mobile version of Wikipedia still works if you need your fix. |

I'm wondering if this will go off. It seems Webb is still on the fence about this, so I'll be writing him tomorrow.
I think its strange that this attempt to tighten the noose goes down tuesday and I've heard such little conversation about it.... _________________ Gun control is leaving your demonsmith engineers close enough to re-roll the scatter on your artillery. |
