Got a response for those wondering about the Ogres being left out of the restrictions....they aren't done yet.

Here is his response to the letter I posted earlier in this thread with a few concerns. All in all a good response I think. I will post so we don't all ask him the same questions.

Okay Joey,

I will make the name change as soon as I can....

I will be moving back the cutoff again for Fantasy to the 4th of March.  Regardless of what you see here, I am a Fantasy man.  The hotel pulled the rug from under our feet this year, and I had to adjust quickly.  Next year will be much bigger.

The restrictions are not done yet, and Ogres will be put under the scope, as well as Monstrous Infantry.  Have faith.

The Masque was included in last years event....no one took her.

Yes on the prizes, the sponsor page is up and I just got $500.00 from Reaper alone.....

Hotels in the area are slim to none. Crying or Very sad One hotel within 5 miles of the American Legion.

The Crowne Plaza is the closest and is $107-$130 plus 15% tax per night.

Actually, I think that is a bad price. It's one thing if the event is in the hotel because of the convenience and everything.

I'm going to search for a hotel this weekend. I hope to get something under $100 after tax a night.

Good luck. The Crowne Plaza is 1.5 miles from the legion hall and has a full bar and restaurant. Breakfast buffet starts at 6:30am and is $16, or you can get the package that includes the breakfast in your room cost. I'm going to call their sales person Deanna tomorrow to see what the details would be in order to get a group rate.

If you stay at the Riverview Best Western, you'll be almost 6 miles away in Rahway, but at least you'll be across the river from Breathless Gentlemen's Club. Very Happy

That sounds like a fine establishment to be located near Ben. I am
sure they have some excellent dinner specials that we may need
to check out.

Hopefully the bar is open past 6pm Wink

I did a google map and unless I had the wrong address it was 7/10 of a mile away. Looked like BK and McDonald was close as well as a Chili's restaurant.

Only problem is how to navigate everything with only right hand turns Shocked

Ben is going to handle the booking. I think he was checking into a group rate thing too.

Pay attention to this reply:

1.  You may add your Characters to this unit, so the unit can go over the 15.

2.  Same answer as above.

3.  By definition Cauldrons are War Machines.
4.  Black Knights are not Ethereal.  If the unit is Ethereal, you may only have the capped listed on these particular units.

5.  Any 6 spells in the game from the core rule book, and The Dreaded Thirteenth will receive a lookout sir roll.

6.  The event location has been changed.  Stay tuned as I am sending out an email to let everyone know the new details.

7.  I will be working on the hotels in question, but I have found that the best rates are found online.  I normally go online myself when I have to travel.  The links that I have listed are the closet ones in the area from the Colonial.

8.  In the new location, yes.  It is much larger.

Hey guys,

We're excited about this event again this year.  Just to follow up on some of the rules for clarifications:

1.  Is the limit of 15 on Monstrous Infantry only for the base model count or the total at any point in the game (including characters)?

2.  The same question is for any of the model limits on units.  Is that total model count including characters can't exceed 28, 15, 50, 60, etc?

3.  For Dark Elves and the limit on war machines...are the Cauldrons being counted as war machines or characters for purposes of the limitations?

4.  For the new Vampires, is the limit on Ethereal units/models just for banshees, wraiths, and ghosts, or does it include Black Knights, Mortis engines, Coven Throne, etc?

5.  What are the "6 spells" that "Look out, Sir" rolls will be allowed for?

6.  With the number of paid participants, will the location of the event be changed, or is it ok to say that this is locked in?

7.  Is there a group rate discount for any of the local hotels?

8.  Will this American Legion hall have sufficient room for everyone and their stuff?  Display boards, tables, chairs, suitcases on Sunday, etc?

Thanks, again guys.  Your answers will be posted on our Chantilly website so that we're all on the same page as to what you guys are thinking.

Hey guys,

Grest news....due to the high demand for this years Colonial GT, I have been able to secure the VFW that is within two blocks of the American Legion.  This space is much larger and we can now accommodate 80 slots for WHFB and 32 for 40k.  The individuals that have already paid and on standby will be added to the Master List.  Individuals that have not paid for their slots will be placed on standby until they have paid.  The only way to be added to the Master List is by payment, and they will be placed by the order that payment is received.

In this new space, 40k will be downstairs, with WHFB upstairs.  The War Store tent will be downstairs.  The main bar, which opens at 1:00 pm, is downstairs.  However, at 5:00 pm the WHFB players will have a bar area open upstairs at their space with a attendant for their drinks.
I will be placing an order with a catering company, the players with dietary concerns will be taken care of, and given options at the event.   Two bars, one location.....

The address for the VFW is:  6 Broadway  Clark, NJ 07066.  The hotels that I have listed are still great for this location, you don't have to change anything if you have booked a room already.  Nothing else has changed from the previous format.

Congratulation to Brad Nichols for winning the 40k Colonial GT Qualifier at Maplewood Hobby!

Also, the paypal account will be available after 12:00pm on Monday the 30th.
