I'm going to do 40K, I think. I'm more likely to have a tournament-ready army with it. _________________ Rush - Warpstone Pile

Things going on the Fantasy side seem a little suspect. Look at Ben Tutie's post (Tekore) who runs Southern Assault, grail Quest and Brawler Bash.

That being said, Ben they seem to be looking for some one to run NOVA, they'd probably give you the job |

The thread on dakka says that Fantasy is under new management and is heavily revised. All they had to do was ask. Haha _________________ Thanks,

I'm signed up for 40K .
We should organize a CGL Olympics team. _________________ Rush - Warpstone Pile

From the NOVA Open Newsletter for the Fantasy GT:
Quote: | The NOVA Open welcomes Steve Gant (Icehouse Warriors, Delaware) as the new lead of Warhammer Fantasy! Sign up for the WHFB GT (32 players, 6 rounds, 2500 points), but keep a careful eye out for the 2014 Primer - Steve may be adding additional events to the schedule!
The NOVA Open terrain build team will be working with Steve to create (at least) 16 tables of exciting new terrain, aiming to provide Fantasy players with the best gaming tables ever played on at this Convention. Swag bags go to the first 400 attendees to register this year, so don't delay.
The forming of the Mid-Atlantic Masters Region, together with new guidelines, will allow WHFB players from both the Mid-Atlantic and SE Regions the opportunity to play in the NOVA Open Fantasy GT and improve their scores to compete in the national event. The NOVA Open will now be a qualifying event to the Mid-Atlantic Masters only. NOVA Open Fantasy GT players will have their scores calculated for the Mid-Atlantic Masters. Mid-Atlantic scoring events will contribute towards the SE Masters' year-end event in Durham, NC. Five players in the SE Masters will be offered slots in the National event.
Follow terrain reports for a peak at the NOVA Open's new Fantasy terrain - or consider joining in the builds yourself by contacting novaopen@gmail.com. |
As to the Olympic team, I'd be down for it. But I already said I didn't want to participate _________________ My Blog |

This play them both is really annoying, either everyone plays with the new one or the old one not both. |

Eh its not that big of a deal IMO. It lets people that think they can get a hold of the new rules a chance to actually play them at a big event. And it doesn't screw over the people who made an army out of the old rules. Yeah it'll be a little confusing, but I think it'll make a lot more people happy then upset. _________________ My Blog |

Yes, god forbid people play with what they want to play with or are prepared to play with. If people want to use the new dex, have at it. If they are unprepared and can only do the new one but still want to run space wolves, have at it.

I am so happy and so sad, torn even.
I'd given up on the new dex being out in time, and I'm happy with my current list.
I won't be able to get the new one on release day because I'm going on vacation next weekend and I'll be broke thereafter.
I do think potentially allowing both is an odd choice. _________________ Chickhammer

Booooooooo! You can do it!

Its really not that odd. I know the LVO did it with the Tyranids codex. It allows the people that want to play the new stuff able too, while not making people who prepared for this yearly event with the old dex have to scramble 2-3 weeks beforehand and update their lists. _________________ My Blog |

I'll be at NOVA Open again this year. I'll be working it on the midnights crew but I hope I can meet some more of the CGL gang this time.
If you find yourself up late, I'll most likely be guarding the Dealer Room. Stop by and say hi. _________________ An articulate soul, trapped in an inarticulate shell
