Wow, they dont play around getting those score out there
Way to go Frank...tops in CGL and Eric right behind.
Not bad overall either for CGL in general.
We will need to talk after you guys settle down so I can tweak my Ogre list for Colonial Carnage _________________ Joey

Woohoo! Let's hear it for soft scores! I was completely stunned by the results the entire way home (just ask Phil), and I am still on cloud 9. Albeit a little tired. I still can't believe that I beat out Phil Karl for best Dwarfs.
I appreciate it and I am grateful for it, and I do believe I earned it given how the overall scores were calculated.
I looked at the forums and apparently, because this was a 6 game event the tournament organizers elected to double the paining scores for everyone, spreading them out and resulting in them accounting for a greater percentage of the overall score. I checked and had they used the actual painting scores (not double) i would have dropped only 5 places in the ranking overall ranking, but I would have been 3rd highest dwarf.
This topic is apparently burning up the forums on WargamersUSA today. It is interesting because there is only a couple people commenting on the painting matrix itself. Most of the discussion and criticism has to do with its contribution to the overall score. That said, I greatly appreciate it and will display my plaques proudly!
Thanks for a great weekend everyone! I'll sum my thoughts about the overall events and my games in another post.

You should have gotten 2nd best painted because the guy that won best overall painted didn't paint his own army, it was in fact painted by one of the judges... The guy with the white lion bus. |

So overall I feel pretty happy with our results this GQ. As Kelly pointed out playing swedish is a completely different game. But personally I and I would guess a couple of us here do enjoy it more than just the uncomped-out-of-the-box game. It levels the playing field quite well and makes all armies viable.
Congrats to Eric as well as Phil for your awards. Always glad to see our club represented.
To those who might be interested in joining the travelling pack for next year's Masters circuit. Just hit Gene, Phil, or myself up. Personally I would like to get MORE competivive next year as a club. But that means exposure to more lists, more armies and competitive players.
With Dennis hosting his first quarterly event next year, I will get in touch with him and will myself be hosting some small events hopefully at GP if not Huzzah but will ensure they do not clash with his event or Masters circuit events.
For those who dont know Colonial Carnage is around the corner, 2500 Swedish comp about 2.5 hours away. So sign up now and pay, it will sell out and fast. _________________ 2016
