OK, this is scheduled for Aug 22-23, who is interested?

We need to get teams together, We can probably field at least two. They are currently saying only one team per club but will probably expand to 2. Ben has found a loophole by creating an IFL team. If we have more than 8 interested maybe we can run a one day 3 game play-in with the top 8 getting spots.

Really need to get firm commitments, also list your preferred army and an alternate army if available.

So far we have...

1.Brandon - Empire, Ogre
2.Phil - (whatever army he can borrow)
3.Gene - O&G, Bret's
4.Joey - DE, Warriors
5.Ben - Beastmen
6.Frank - Ogres

Tentative

Frank and I are definitely interested, but that is really far out to know that we could make it. I guess, we're tentative.

I think TKs are fairly strong under ETC, but ....

it's also worth noting that if you read the players pack paint scores only matter if your team is top voted top 2, so it might be worthwhile putting our best painted armies on one team, and then the other team can have armies with a mis mash of units that we throw together from different peoples collections because there IS NO PAINT SCORE...

Same goes for Sports, but I would be shocked if one of the CGL didn't win best sports.

Most interested in Playing: TK, High Elves

Willing to play VC, Warriors, Deamons

Also keep in mind when constructing teams (not that's it a big issue for our soft CGL armies)

Every team may only select TWO armies from the following list: Skaven, High Elves, Wood Elves, Dark Elves, Daemons of Chaos, and Warriors of Chaos.

I better start painting some Ogres then. All my painted armies are on that list.
Or I could get started on TK's Shocked

I don't think it's a huge issue because half of our people don't play armies on those lists.

We could also consider group armies based on skews. Like making a team where every army has at least 2 cannons. Like Empire, Dwarf, Ogre, Deamons

How many teams? We just might could field 3. I'll put my hat in there. I think I have a nice Beastman army to use in ETC. Definitely will be good against the norm Empire builds. I've gotten used to playing against Empire after Brawlers. As for an alternate army, I'll fill any voids that we may have so captains choice.

For planning purposes, Frank and I are more confident that we could make it because it is two weeks before Labor Day, but still keep us as tentative.

I would play High Elves and Frank would play Chaos Dwarves.

Frank's army, under ETC restrictions, is pretty good at pulling off ties.

I think that I would play the same kind of list that I've been playing, two nobles on griffons, semi-MSU, etc. Based on Colonial Carnage, not sure what my army is good at. . . .

Both of these armies are painted pretty well.

[ninja edit]. so I've already spoken with Phil. Looks like my availability for 2-day tournaments is going to be curtailed for the rest of this year. I am happy to make up ETC Lists for practice, but sadly I won't be able to be there in person.

But 'lol be there in spirit! Good luck you guys all rock!

I'm in. High Elves, if we needed more variety Cody might lend me one of his armies, i've been painting his wood elves so that might be an option, though if we needed WE i'd have to step up the amount I paint.

Interested people should start posting lists for review.

I think we need to find out for sure if multiple teams are allowed or how we can get people entered. Then find out who is actually committed to playing and put teams together. Then we can post, critique, build lists to compete. From your synopsis of the practice event, this ETC thing is a little more involved than what most of us are used to.

For planning purposes, Frank and I won't be able to commit until early to mid-June. Just too much going on and too much up in the air between now and then.

With Corey and Andy that makes 8 "committed" players. I think committed may have dual meanings here. Wink

This will give us the 2 teams or keep it as CGL/IFL in case they hold course on only 1 team per. Anybody else that wants to go can be alternates or non playing captains(?) in case something happens to the other members. Unless we can get more players to be able to field another team this is the way I see it going. ???
