Cant imagine what materials they are using for that to happen. I have on many occasions left other resin models in my car in the summer w/o any mishaps. The issue shouldnt be dont leave models in the sun, the issue should be why are they using a resin product with such a low melting point. _________________ Check out my blog

Even reading that Rush, i'm in disbelief at the Frontline Gamer dude. That post you linked to explained how it didn't melt, people are overreacting, and everything is fine. Then in the comments of that post, he goes on to say how it melted...am I missing something? Did he edit the original blog post and put up the "Too much hysteria" one? |

I also read that people shouldn't be surprised if small parts of the model get misshapen from the heat ...huh?? Sorry we live in the Virginia, it might not be the deep south from where I am from but it does get pretty hot in our cars during the day. So they are telling me that I should be aware that my models might be damaged if left in a hot car?
I think the screaming and hair pulling are a bit much yes. Do I think that the resin model is going to end up in a pool of goo at the bottom of your box, no. However if the smaller items get damaged in the heat (bent whatever) then I do have an issue with that. _________________ Check out my blog

He's not saying that the mini didn't melt. I mean, it very clearly did. But, he's now saying, "Having held another Finecast Gandalf over the weekend I'm now more inclined to think that my Gandalf was actually a faulty product. "
I mean, we already know that the quality of the Finecast models has been pretty variable: my (one) experience has been a good one, but I've seen pictures of stuff that never should have made it through QC, for sure. But there's a gulf between "Some of the castings are just bad, man," and "Holy crap; your Finecast will straight-up liquify in 80° temperature." _________________ Rush - Warpstone Pile

I just put together the Astoroth (?) the Grim I purchased. First impressions:
Very soft material. VERY soft. It will take a while to get used to the feel. I was being timid about handling it, worried about breakage. I hope to God this stuff doesn't break the first time it falls to the floor.
Lots of flash. Has been mentioned a lot.
A few bubbles. Nothing major.
Went together very easily. As advertised.
I must have had a good blister as I didn't find any cosmetic problems. As above, though, I am worried about the resiliency of the product. I guess breakage= buy more often
I definitely would not want something like Scourges in this stuff. _________________ Tone on the internet can be a bitch. Honest, I am not Nerd Raging. Well, maybe not. |

I ordered a Casket, Tomb King and the Liche. It has been shipped today, so should recieve it by the weekend.
My thoughts ....the only resin Model I bought so far, Forgeworld Spawn, was pretty awesome. It was light and went together easily with superglue. I seem to remember bending the legs around a bit for the perfect fit by soaking em in hot water for a bit. I believe it was something I found online or maybe instruction that came with the model. What the difference in that and setting in the hot sun for hours? I think the sun(especially in a car) is hotter. I think this is an over reaction. With that said, I will be very careful about not leaving it in the heat though Hopefully I am not the guy crying at a tournament when my centerpiece casket just melted to mush _________________ Joey

Yes but the forgeworld stuff and the finecast stuff isnt the same.
I have left Forgeworld items in the car, armor cast etc and haven't had an issue. It would be worrisome if you purchase a finecast casket & it ends up getting warped because you left it in your truck so you wouldnt have to go home first after work... _________________ Check out my blog
