I just registered and then went ahead and paid for it as well.
http://www.thecolonialgt.com/registration.htm
Anyone have a twitter acct or a Facebook acct that can see if they are up and running there yet? It seem the old forum isn't working yet and with the news of facebook it may not come back at all. I don't have an account, but may need to finally get one. I just hope I don't get a bunch of old girlfriends hitting me up _________________ Joey

Looking like I should be able to attend this as well. I have put in for the
days off, and the wife is aware. I am putting my jerk face hat on for
this one.

The Colonial GT is a very laid back tournament emphasizing gamesmanship, good fun, high sportsmanship, and gentlemanly competition... but you have to have all your models painted. |

Definitely wear that hat when writing your list to be competative. Wear the Smiley one while playing _________________ Joey

No doubt Joey. I have fallen for the friendly competition crap before.
I end up playing games getting creamed while my opponent acts
very nice.

So, are we all decided to take rock hard lists to the Colonial to beat some face? |

I always bring, in my mind, a hard list. I just suck at getting it to work properly _________________ Joey

I think we could also brainstorm on what we expect to see there. I
believe we will see a lot of Ogres, Dark Elves, and Daemons. The question
is will the Vampire Counts have any power builds to look out for? Also
what do we expect to see from these top tier armies and how can we defeat them?

I agree the Ogre death star will be in, but what is the best way to take it down. Whilst writing I had a thought. What about a single character with bot a good armor and ward save who is stubborn. Then work your combat units to the flank.

Yep, would have to be sure to get those characters in combat with your own hero, because they'll make way into your flanking unit. At the last Colonial, I saw a lot of high armor save tank characters only used to hold up tough combat units. |

My Ogre horde plan.....I picture a lvl 4 sorceress tossing a large purple sun with 8 dice or so and then deal with what's left _________________ Joey

Yes, purple sun will work. The banner only affects spells that target. _________________ Tone on the internet can be a bitch. Honest, I am not Nerd Raging. Well, maybe not. |

What other armies can we expect to see?
I think Ogre Horde + Rune Maw will be strong, mostly because Ironblasters / Lead Belchers / Sabretusks are also really good, but what else will we see?
Dwarf cannon spam + Hammerer horde? |

Competative players/lists.....definitely 2-3 Dwarf gunlines, several Chaos Warriors with a fat chosen unit and a couple of Warshrines and tzeentch wizards, and of course the Horded out Ogres with ironblasters.
I remember a lot of Orcs and Goblin armies there last year too. Few maxed out rat armies with that stupid Plague Furnace(s) and the Screaming Bell(wit 75 clanrats along with) as well, and a few Daemons and of course a few of the Fat Frog armies with a Horde escort of Saurus. I didnt see too many Dark Elves last year myself, maybe a small handfull, and only remember 2-3 Empire as well. But then, I am getting older and memory does fail me now and then
All in all a pretty good mixture over the years that I have been. I dont remember where an army or 2 have dominated the composition of the tournament. _________________ Joey
