Hey Fellas,
Here to mention Southern Assault 2, in Charlotte NC.
Date is Oct 6-7th. 2500 points.
We are really big advocates of bringing whatever models you have to play, so we don't play a "hard" comp system.
Our system is based off the old WPS/Swede system (that David is fond of) and you make you're own score and know it before the first dice hit.
While we love having a thriving scene in the South, we are interested in getting players from other regions to come down and play.
Sign-up is only $35 bucks, and last year we gave out over $800 in GW Credit to just the 6 winners alone. (last years winner got enough to do a half of an army $275-ish)
If you want to comedown with some clubmates, the club challenge is always a good time, and it will net this years winners well over $150 in credit for you're club needs (be it terrain, or..whatever..)
If you any any clubmates want to come from a couple states away, email me at jparsley00@gmail.com and I will run some pretty good deals to come join the action.
I will also be possibly working with Garagehammer to make stuff happen.
Info found here
http://www.warnc.com/showthread.php?tid=155
Rulespack and signups are up, and after 14 days we have 25 signed up. slots are capped at 50. unless the waiting list gets bigger, then we'd look to expand.
If interested shoot me an email. or and feel free to join the warnc.com forum.

I'm gonna think about this one.
My brother's in Charlotte, and having something else to do while down there would help me A) be a good brother and visit while B) get me out of there before things get awkward but still C) justifying the drive down there. _________________ Rush - Warpstone Pile

Cmon down and do it.
In fact I will be up with some members of my club kobra kai this weekend at nova, playing in the fantasy event. Come say hi, that way you already know some folks at the event.
Also, if you manage to get 2 others to come with, i'll let everyone in cheaper. (email me)
Yep, so far we have a VA beach club, 3 clubs in NC, and 2 in SC as well as some TN and GA and AL players showing up. Should be a blast.
Let me know man, we'll get drinks.
BTW what army do you play? |

I'll see you there, then! I'll be in the Fantasy tournament, too, running my Skaven. Definitely flag me down!
What'll you be running? _________________ Rush - Warpstone Pile

I totally appreciate the detail in which the composition packet was put together, but WOW...You'll need an abacus, a ticker tape, a mathmatician, and a super hero decoder ring to calculate it.
I'll keep this on my radar and see what my schedule looks like. Thanks guys for the invite. _________________ Thanks,

Yup, that sounds great Ben...
The Comp system is a descendant of the old WPS/Swede system comp in the fact you begin with a high number, and take subtractions for everything (very few give pluses) the end result produces a number between 30-0 which will be you're comp score.
The great thing is, this is the national comp system of the swedish league (of about 150 players) and their quarterly gt's. Also it is a living document
so every quarter after hundreds of games by hundreds of players and a quarterly GT points change. For example the K'daii destroyer was a -100 (which is basically -10 in a 30-0 system) for taking one back in the winter update. now as people learned to control it, the destroyer is only -70 (-7) to the chaos dwarf player score.
So at least at SAGT you will know you're painting score (check list) and you're comp, before dice hit the table. So you control you're destiny |

Great time meeting everyone at the NOVA last week. (Sorry my buddies Ken's list was soo bent) As always remember only 1 more month till SA 2012, and you are all invited!
As an Aside, does anyone happen to have Scooter's email?
Thanks

I had a great time, even as he kicked my teeth in. There's a lot to be said for that! _________________ Rush - Warpstone Pile

Tell you what, if you want to come down and visit you're brother (and get revenge), sign up to SA, and you can play for 20 bucks.
In fact if any one you think you can make it, I will offer you steep discounts. I am looking to grow the Mid-atlantic warhammer community.
Let's do it!
Thoughts? |

I really like the scenarios you all are using. Between that and the comp packet this tournament looks spectacular and it is obvious there was a lot of planning involved. Unfortunately I already had plans that weekend. Let us know about future events. I thought the club vs club thing sounded pretty cool too.
Also is your event the same weekend as Throne of Skulls...? Might that hurt attendance?

Looks like I'm definitely not going to be able to make it out to this. _________________ Rush - Warpstone Pile

Last reminder that army lists and payments are due 9/23 in order to get full bonus sportsmanship points for the tournament.
Payments can be sent via Paypal to southernassault@gmail.com and lists should be sent to jparsley00@gmail.com. You can also go to the Southern Assault forum on warnc.com for all the details.
If you haven't registered yet, head on over to warnc.com asap and join the fun.
If you have submitted you're list, you will receive a email from me stating that you're score has been confirmed. If you have not received that email a couple of days after submission, then email me. Either something is wrong, or i am behind.
Also, anyone playing the High Elf character Teclis; use the negative most possible score granted in the comp pack, due to his ability to switch lores prior to each battle. That way we have Teclis covered in any situation.
Thanks |
