I am committed to running my wacky tourney on March 26th at GPC.
Will reserve the tables later today.

Exact details will be posted later in this thread. Because of the potential problems of playing with unfamiliar armies, I'll most likely go with either 2k or 1999 points. Leaving the lords at home strikes me as sensible, but it also removes the fun possibility of getting to play with someone else's dragon or greater daemon.

I am going to reserve the space, and then try to work with the IFL to have it be an official IFL-sponsored event. It'll go to their new council for a vote, so if they approve, it'll get some funding from them and a discount for entry fees to IFL members. If not, then I'll run it as a CGL/CGG event with prize support coming solely from entry fees.

Let me know immediately (via PM, if anonymity is desired) if anyone has a problem with this being an IFL event, run at GPC. I would not expect any issues from our end.

One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs.

This is a Fantasy event, yes? It would be good to state what game the event is in the subject line.

Got it. Thanks for the catch.

Unless I read the rules incorrectly in 8th...you can take lords at 1999 or 2K, just you can't spend as many points on them...so yes, Greater Daemons, Princes on Star Dragons, Slann deathstars, and others might not be in the armies, but you can still get decent lord level characters from most of the other army books into a 2K list. I like the idea, though...I wouldn't be opposed to a "no lord" rule for the tourny, either.

Oh, and I'm in...not sure what army I'd take, though (High Elves or Ogres).

Yeah, I'm rusty - completely forgot there are no more slot limits. Still, the point about no lords might be worth thinking about.
