I just noticed they posted the event on the Huzzah Calendar. But they're wrong when they say 2k its now 1850. Also from the event runner's blog:

as always - registration starts at 10am, first game at 1045. Entry is 15 and covers lunch. The rest is rolled directly into prize support. As usual we do not require any painting or fancing basing.
For those interested in proxying models, as long as you don't have any other models of that type in your army, and they have a passing resembelance to the models being proxied, proxies are O.K. |

Glad to see they went down to 1850. 2,000 points at the last one was brutal. Too bad I can't make this one. _________________ Chickhammer

Oh I forgot to remind people. This is a cut throat event. Don't show up with a fluffy list expecting to do well, because you won't. The last time I was there I played Jet Seer Council in round 1 and then O'vesa star in round two. Which means that O'Vesa star lost in round one _________________ My Blog |

Hurray for slow playing O'Vesa star players! Only has 20 models but still manages to take up more time in my turn than myself! Gotta love only playing 3 turns on table one!
Also what Joe is forgetting to mention is he got second. So a big congratulations to him as well! _________________ My Blog |

I went 3-0 and no one even scored a VP against me in any of the games until the last one and he got Linebreaker.
Wish I had my shot at him, but he beat his folks worse than I beat mine
I just dont like the guy though, he bitches, whines, and slow plays the entire time.
REALLY DISLIKE HIM! |

My first game was against the only Nids player.
x2 Flyrants, x2 spitters, no regen.
x5 Genestealer Broods min'd out w/Broodlord
x2 Crones
x2 Exocrines
x1 Mawlock
That was about it. His troops were actually hugely obnoxious since they ALL infiltrated on me lol
He managed to kill a bunch of my stuff, but he really did not have an answer to Khorne Hounds so they ended up sweeping up most of his stuff.
He did well for himself, my Drakes came on and killed a flyrant and killed a brood of Stealers.
The more I see it, the less and less I end up liking the Flyrant. Just too fragile and far far too important to throw away on a chance to kill something. I am of the mind that you take them footsloggin' with a pair of Guards. |

Quote: | In Virginia, Huzzah Hobbies held their monthly RTT, and frequent ToF commenter Brad Voorhees took home the glory. If you’ve ever faced off against Brad in this edition, I’m sure you can guess what he was using: not one, not two, not three, not four, but FIVE Riptides. This list is absolutely punishing, and a lot of armies have trouble dealing with it. It combines the O’vesastar with additional ‘Tides, and while weak in troops, it just pours out the damage. Congratulations to Brad on his victory. Tau/Tau monstrosity to the max… |

You guys just aren't playing 40k the right way. If you figured out how to win on turn 2 and just stalled there you'd find yourself bathed in glory as well. _________________ The Hammer Dialectic - Thoughts on Warhammer, Professional Wrestling, and Dialectical Materialism.

lmao nice. . . I will keep that in mind from now on out!
All of my games went to turn 7, exept the last one and I had a liteny of problems with that guy.
1. Items in his army were not on the army sheet he gave me.
2. He deployed a few guys about half an inch out of his deployment zone. I didnt realize but I moved and meashed to shoot and he got really upset then moved his stuff back. . . Now my guys were out of range.
3. Constantly misconstrued rules to his favor. Could not wrap his head aronud me getting a 4+ deny the witch (adamatium will, psycher in the unit). Had to get a judge for his tantrum.
4. Measured an assault. He then said I did not have the range and "knocked" his model over and then replaced it. I was then out of range by an inch and a half.
5. Took almost an hour to set up. Had to get judge over to make him finish.
6. Took long turns. Had to threaten to write down times if he did not speed up.
Was generally an annoying game, though I kicked his teeth in either way.
My other two games were wonderful and both players were great. The Tyranid player especially was fun and he is a very good player. |

Yeah my first two games were great as well. I just can't believe how slow someone can be when they have 25 models in their entire army. I should have demanded they picked a winner arbitrarily because we only played 3 full turns. They constantly threaten it and I'm just realizing I could have made them do it. I would have had the same chances of winning
The dude I played is a nice enough guy. Just slow and doesn't understand that just because one riptide is in melee doesn't mean all his riptides in different units that are within 2 inches get to assault. And then tank shocking me to group me up fucks him over in assault. The judges tell him because of that sky ray your dudes have to walk the other way around. I hit and run out of there and assault and he complains that he still can't move his guys into base to base. Well durrrrrrrr. There were a few times I had to tell him that he needs to move that sky ray in order to swing, which he refused to do because oh noes snap shots!
What really is grinding my gears is his mention up on Torrent of Fire. Had I had 2 more turns I think I could have got him. Frustrating! _________________ My Blog |
