NoVA Tabletop Olympics
Did we want to set up a team for this? It looks like it doesn't take any effort beyond making them spell "Chantilly Gaming Legion" correctly (an issue last year in the 40K GT) and doesn't cost anything. _________________ Rush - Warpstone Pile

I'm up for it. I don't know if it has to be separated into the game systems...hadn't read the details yet. _________________ Thanks,

Unless I'm grossly confused, it doesn't. Each team member gets X points for doing something (6 points for the 40K GT, 4 points for the Fantasy GT, 4 points for Warmachine, etc.) then all the points across all the team member get totaled up.
Really, I think it's just more raffle chances.

Needs to be, 'cause I've had my ticket for a while now. _________________ Rush - Warpstone Pile

Yes - the whole point of the Tabletop Olympics is to allow clubs and gaming groups and buddy groups to organize and contribute to a team effort across multiple game systems, thus bridging gaps and bringing the convention experience as a whole more to the fore, across seminars, and all types of organized play activities, even the capital palette paint competition.
When you check in, you can doubly make sure you're all on the correct TTO team; whoever the nominal captain is can also verify to make sure everyone was included.
This is an inaugural year for the concept, but it will refine further going forward (And hopefully get smoother in terms of team registration), but I'm excited to put the first names on the giant cup we've gotten for the event.
There will be recognition for best individual points, best average team points (normalized by player #, min 5 I believe), and best total team points. |

That is great because I totally didn't sign up for it when I registered.
Count me in, guys. _________________ Chickhammer

I think the name change will make our team average look more respectable. |

Strongly disinclined to change the club's name ; at least as a sideblow to a thread about setting up a NoVA Open team.
For the sake of simplicity, can we just call the team CGL and move on?
Phil, since you already sent in a name, do you want to be the team POC?
Everyone: PM Phil your full name (don't assume he knows it) and he can email novaopen@gmail.com to register you.
We do get bonus points for every team member registered before 8/22, so best to move on it. _________________ Rush - Warpstone Pile

Ok, I just checked in. When you check in they ask if you are part of a team for the Olympics. There is a 'CGL' listed among the teams.
They MAY HAVE also incorrectly created a 'Casual Gaming League' by mistake. There was a long line of people registering and after I asked IF there was a 'casual gaming Legion, ' the woman behind the counter replied, "well, there is now." (I think she was trying to be a little too helpful and overwhelmed by the line of folks). I think I got myself changed to the proper team (I.e., "CGL"). But will have to double check on Saturday.
So, when you check in, if you are not already on a the proper team there is a chance to add your name to it.
