I'm headed to SA too. Do you guys need/want a 4th to play for CGL? No one from the Beltway Gamers is up for it and I'm sick of flying solo.

Kris, you do realize there is a tourney this Saturday at GP right. Also, where do you play? I love in Alexandria right off the beltway, and I have a table at my house if you are ever interested.

I know! I've seen you guys posting about it. Alas I can't make it, I'll be in Gunnison,CO.
I usually play up at Dream Wizards in Rockville (I live right in the middle of DC), but lately I've been super busy learning mobile development and haven't been able to make my usual Wednesday game nights. Luckily now that I have a relatively firm hold on iOS development I'm jumping back in and plan on finishing the master season as strong as possible. I'm looking forward to the Martinsburg event and I'm hoping I can setup some games with you guys at GP in the next couple of weeks. _________________ I don't always ride, but when I do, it's for Ulthuan |

I mean, I was on the fence until the whole shirt thing came up .
I know it's not a team event, I just figured another body might put you guys closer to best club, and I feel like I've played with you a bit (at least Gene), so why not enlist with the Legion if you'll have me?
I'm still figuring out my travel arrangements, are you guys heading down for the KoW Friday too? I've never played KoW, but I figured I'd give it a shot with my Elves. _________________ I don't always ride, but when I do, it's for Ulthuan |

OK, your in. (I know, its a tough process)
I'm headed down on Friday.
Probably not going to try to make the KOW tourney, so I will leave around noon.
If I get crazy and decide to do the KOW tourney then I will be leaving Friday morning around 6.

Oh, almost forgot, If your going to represent CGL, then you will need to be very generous with giving opponents points. |

That usually isn't a problem...Thanks! I'll do my damnedest for CGL.
I think I might head down on Thursday so that I can avoid the drive and attempt to wrap my head around KoW. If anyone wants to head down with me early give me a shout, as previously mentioned I'm in the middle of the DC. _________________ I don't always ride, but when I do, it's for Ulthuan |

Four measly points worth of painting ahead of me was Joel for the best in Empire.
I beat him in battle points. Egh. Stupid Gene convincing me to paint an entire army in a week.
I blame him not convincing me to do that sooner for not taking Best in Empire.
Great time was had by all. _________________ Kevin C

A few observations from me, mostly personal.
I'm surprised that I only got 16 in paint. I guess the paint judges really applied the painting rubric relatively strictly? I will say that the general level of painting quality was high and I'm happy about getting 2nd Player's Choice.
All five of my games were "hard." I really had to think. It looks like that is substantiated by the fact that all five of my opponents finished in the top half of the results (17th place or better).
It was nice that there was a wide variety of armies. I was hoping that I would play five different armies and I only had to play the same army once (two games against dwarves).
The tournament ran smoothly. I have to hand it to Atomic, they run a good tournament.
The talk all weekend was about the future of Warhammer. Very hard to say where the hobby is going at this point.

Kelly,
I'm not sure if you noticed, but surprising to me, there was only 1 army above 16 comp in the top 8 |

Gene,
thanks. No I hadn't noticed. That is interesting. There goes my theory that the "sweet spot" in Swedish is mid-way between the minimum and maximum Swedish point limits. But then again, I'm assuming this is the last time we will ever play a Swedish comp tournament. . . .
