40K Battle for the Cure 2011 - March 19, 2011

40K Tournament to get together to help raise money for Bill Donovan (Treehugger), and his Race For The Cure. The same day that the tournament is running there will also be a silent auction for additional fundraising for Bill.

RULES
ARMY SELECTION
No more than 1750 points may be used in the selection of an army. Only the main army lists may be used for the army in question. No appendix lists are permitted. Special Characters are permitted. Only armies listed in the Approved Army Lists section may be taken. Any armour, weapons and upgrades must be modelled on the miniatures (WYSIWYG).

No vehicles with armour value over 33, and to control/contest an onjective you must be boots on the ground. Therefore you can not control/contest if you are in a vehicle parked on an objective.

Forge World models are permitted in the tournament, but they can only be used to represent models from existing Codex list. No Forge World rules are allowed.

BATTLES
Battle for the Cure tournament will consist of three games of Warhammer 40,000 for each player. The 5th Edition Rulebook and INAT. The time limit for each game is 2 hours (120 minutes). At the end of this time limit, time will be called at which time the players, if not finished will finish the current game turn.

Note: DO NOT begin a game turn unless there is ample time for both players to receive their turn!

In each game, players will play a scenario. Each scenario will have a list of special rules and other information. Players will be informed at the beginning of the tournament as to what scenarios will be used.

SCORING
There are a possible 50 points that you can earn per game. Base battle points should be determined by the chart below.

• Battle Points
Parameters to determine the base battle points will be explicit in each scenario. Each scenario will have additional battle points possible. These will be listed in order from easiest to hardest to achieve. Total victory points will be used for any tie breakers

• Army Appearance Points
We will be using a modified GT Painting checklist. We believe that this checklist goes a long way towards clarifying what we consider the important aspects of Army Appearance.
Army Appearance Judging will take place during the lunch break.

• Bonus Points
As this is a charity event there will be bonus points available. These will be calculated once for the whole tournament.
10 BftC points for a model with a pink breast cancer ribbon
15 BftC points for a 5 man squad painted pink
25 BftC points for taking no vehicles

provided by Bill Donovan who had an entirely pink army last year painted in this fashion
1) prime white - I use GW
2) spray with Duron sweat Pea spray paint - got this at home depot
3) Ink entire fig in GW Baal red ink
4) ink entire fig in GW black ink ink
5) paint shoulder pads and highlight with privateteer Press P3 - Carnal Pink
6) paint pink race for the cure ribbons with vallejo squid pink
