As an FYI, there is ka sign up sheet for the "Road to NOVA Invitational" which says that it is to be held on May 14 at Games Parlor Chantilly. I wanted to put this out there to make sure there aren't any table conflicts with other events and to drum interest for it if it's something you want to participate in if allowed to. I don't know the details. _________________ Thanks,

I'm running it and ran it by you guys a while ago.
But yeah, I expect to use all the big blue tables for that day as we're having up to 16 people. |

Also, it's not just an IFL event. We're sponsoring / running it but anyone is open to play. |

Awesome. Do you have more details to post here, like army size, format, etc.? I don't play the 40K, but I'll be the town crier. _________________ Thanks,

From reading that thread you really need to be a good player to participate. _________________ I lose cause I can |

LOL, would be an unfair advantage for someone to play me. Gives them a "free" win. _________________ I lose cause I can |

It is more of a competitive tournament.
We're doing four of these at four different locations. Every event is 3 rounds with 16 players with the top 2 at each event going on to play in another 3 round tournament where the winner of that gets an invite to the NOVA Invitational.
That's a big money tournament, which I'm really iffy / uncomfortable about, but it's a local thing so we're trying to support it.
I think going to a tournament should be about playing tough games against new opponents. I also think tournaments should be fully painted as that makes a game much more enjoyable for me. Expecting to win is just going to lead to heart break, but expecting to lose means you'll never critically examine what you could do better to become a better player and have more fun being able to participate against a wider array of players.
But, yeah, it should be a good time. It's a more cut throat tournament than I'd normally like but there's room enough in the hobby for tournaments that are more goofy and fun in nature (like Battle for the Cure) and tournaments that are a little more tough and "competitive". |

This went well and we had a few new faces today as well.
Thanks for letting us use the tables for the tournament today! We really appreciated it! |
