I had a night full of nostalgia. Matchbox 20, Counting Crows, pat banatar, The b52s, Train, Fastball, Shawn colvin, Boston, Journey, REM, Iron Butterfly, Phil Collins, AcDc, Blink 182,Creed, john Walsh, The clash, Paul Mccartney, Billy joel, Queen, Crosy Stills Nash and Young, Styx, Kansas.. And realized how much i hate the current music phase we are in. I miss the lack of auto tune for singers... I miss artists who didn't need to dress slutty or be crazy to get attention. I miss the real music i feel i grew up with, and music that you could listen to, and FEEL something from, other then pulsing beats, rips of older music, or electronic beeps.
Contrary to current belief: Hip Hop/ Rap / Techno is not music. Its fun to dance to, which i agree with, but it is not something i view as the experience of feeling something deeper then a minor 'Oh nice' factor i get when i hit the occasional, and quite rare song from those genres.
While i hate country, i cant deny some of it and the emotions behind it are quite real, and very specific artists from that genre have my grudging respect for the real emotion and meaning behind their words.
Simple twang and bs fake patriotism is just that. BS. 'Dont take the girl' i respect. 'When the Man Comes Around' i respect, though it's country nature is debatable.
I miss music that marketed something beyond simple sex appeal, drugs, and crazed ideas. I want to FEEL something when i listen to music, i want to feel a connection, even if its internal, i want to have something that hits a cord within myself that i can respond to.
Anyone have any thoughts? _________________ Kevin C

This i think i could like... It just isnt as easy for myself to connect to.
When i complain about a genre as a whole, its because of what i tend to run into.
Justin Beiber, Talyor swift, beyonce, Gaga, all of the latest crazes that fill up the damn media i see all bug me all to no end. _________________ Kevin C

Here is the greatest country song ever recorded.
If you want to see a grown man cry, watch me at Race for the Cure during this song
