Looks like we're confirmed for the 10th.
I'll have one mat and terrain, but obviously not enough to cover 4 separate games. If you've got 'em, please bring 'em. Worst case scenario, it gets left in the car.
I don't believe it was explicitly stated before, so for transparencies sake: If one player wins best general and player's choice, he will receive half of the prize money and the remaining prize support will be split between second place in each category (Assuming we remain at our current level).
Finally, how do you guys feel about 2.5 hour vs. 2 hour games? _________________ Just call me Mike.

I have a mat and terrain, which I'll bring.
I'm ok with 2.5 hour games. Isn't that what was already scheduled? _________________ Nassir Ahmad

Yes. I assume that it's better to have more time than risk not having enough, but you know what they say... _________________ Just call me Mike.

The initial post used the same distribution we used for the WHFB: Player's Choice and each Undefeated player split winnings. Since we couldn't get down to one player, it went 33% / 33% / 33%. If we'd had fewer players or enough time it'd have been 50%/50%. I'd recommend that distribution over 50%/25%/25%.
Also, at 1750, 2 hours should be enough. I don't mind bumping it up to 2.5, but it's going to be a long ass day. Maybe 2.25? _________________ Rush - Warpstone Pile

The 50/25/25 is only if someone wins both awards. I hate to punish someone that has such an amazing day, but I would like to spread the love around. Assuming things go like they did for the WFB tourney, (I.E. one person won best general and one won player's choice) the award will remain 50/50.
Currently we're sitting right at the line of 8 players, so unless we get more folks or there is an outcry, I think that's the best way to do it.
Two and a quarter hours is definitely on the table. _________________ Just call me Mike.

Aaah, I see.
I'd just say that you can only win one award. _________________ Rush - Warpstone Pile

I prefer 2 and a half hours, but if we do 2 hours and let people finish games if they run later than that would be fine.
It's a small tournament and we all know each other so I don't foresee any issues. I just don't want to win or lose a game because of time.
I'm good for two tables of terrain. Hive Fleet Tiamat has to fight on an infested planet, afterall. |

Between Arydadan, me, and Casey, it sounds like we have the terrain situation in hand. If it's needed, I have enough terrain for two tables (one wilderness, one urban), but one of them won't have a mat. _________________ Nassir Ahmad

I am sorry to be lame, but I don't think I'm going to make it. It seems that I've got some family stuff I'm going to have to attend to. That being said, I'm still holding out hope and trying to work it out.
Let me know if you guys want to use the mountains of doom, I'll drop them off for you. _________________ Gun control is leaving your demonsmith engineers close enough to re-roll the scatter on your artillery. |

Please do so. Those things are awesome! They're so big, my Valkyrie got a cover save from them. How cool is that!

I liked when I was able to hide my big ass dragon from Corey's lighting cannon. He has two, so it still got blasted.... _________________ Gun control is leaving your demonsmith engineers close enough to re-roll the scatter on your artillery. |

Nope, we don't really have a cutoff. I'll add you to the list.
Let's plan on 2.25 hours and I'll be flexible on time calling, and try to give lots of warning with time amounts.
On a related note, is any member of the club interested in being the ringer? I'll do it, but that might not be the best thing for organizational reasons. _________________ Just call me Mike.

So as of now leave me as a maybe simply because I'm not sure if I can get a ride... I'm going provided a ride surfaces. So ya. If someone is willing to come out to Leesburg to help me out, that'd be awesome, if not it's all good. Sorry if I can't make it. I'm hoping. |

How strict are we going to be on proxies on Saturday? I typically run 30 man boy squads mixed with Loota squads of 15. Would I be allowed to use the Lootas, even though they are only normal boyz models? The units of Lootas will be clearly identifiable, until stuff starts dying that is. |

The distinction needs to be VERY clear. If you're worried about it, might I suggest painting the bases rim a distinctive color on the lootas? That might help.
Generally, I think everyone is pretty cool, but a game can turn unenjoyable pretty quickly if the mob someone thought was just 15 boys turns into 15 lootas or someone thought they killed off the lootas, but you thought they were shooting the boyz. It can also make a game take a lot longer, which isn't good when you're on a time limit, and you're already playing green tide. I would take every precaution to ensure that they are distinguishably different to even the most untrained eye. _________________ Just call me Mike.

Come first movement phase: boyz move, lootas don't. If I didn't move a small unit it's Lootas, and my lootas will be painted all silver, barring skin. I know a way around time limit. Move up a few guys, then during opponents turn, push everyone else up. Simple. At least I won't have to change my usual list. |

They're still going to have to be visually different. You can't expect your opponent to remember who moved and who didn't in round one throughout the entire game.
As for moving your back guys up in your opponents turn, that's not going to fly. Some people may let you do that in a friendly game, and I can appreciate the potential increase in game pace, however, it's too open to abuse and while the environment will be friendly, this is intended to be more rigid than a Saturday afternoon pick up game. _________________ Just call me Mike.
