What's the problem with the casting values here?

Apples and oranges.
Pit of Shades goes off, in one fashion or another, on a 14+
Dwellers Below goes off, in one fashion or another, on an 18+
Purple Sun goes off, in one fashion or another, on a 15+.
Curse of the Horned Rat doesn't off off on less than a 25+. _________________ Rush - Warpstone Pile

Oh, so you're the inspiration for the GI Joe figure that I had. His codename was "Short Fuse". _________________ Thanks,

On a side note,
I used to have a beef with the use of special characters, but the magic of 8th has replaced that peeve. So, I don't see the harm in special characters anymore since they can get zapped into oblivion like the rest of the lot with a mere roll of the dice from turn 1.
I don't see GW changing the magic since they just super boosted it with the SoM release...but I do think that MR will be changed in the near future...my opinion.
Rich, since you're putting this together, then make up your own rules on how you want it to go down. The fun of a tourny is how to adapt to rulesets or quirky things that could happen. Ahh, the lost days of the "Wrath of Moe"..."those models die." _________________ Thanks,

B) Special characters except for ([insert list here]) |
After I have seen the votes in the poll section, I say NO restrictions. If we want to play 8th RAW, then let there be 8th RAW, Teclis, dwellers below, large hordes, the lot.
If for nothing else to see what would happen. _________________ I lose cause I can |

Have we settled on the NOVA Open scenarios or are we gonna be doing something else?
And how are we doing terrain/mats? I am willing to bring what I have. _________________ Just call me Mike.

We'll use the first three NoVA Open scenarios, found here.
Any and all Special Characters are allowed. _________________ Rush - Warpstone Pile

Hey Guys,
would you please add Tim Miller as an attendee? Bringing Tomb Kings. He's not registered on the forum, but knows about the tournament and wants to attend.

YAY, proud of you Rich. Looking forward to this tournement, thank you much for running it.
BTW, are we going to figure out somewhere to have a cigar during or after? _________________ I lose cause I can |

Please, bring them. It looks like we'll have at least seven games running (assuming nobody flakes out without warning). That, and if we're going to try to do this NoVA-style, we'll need to try to normalize terrain across all of the tables.

Done.
treehugger wrote: | BTW, are we going to figure out somewhere to have a cigar during or after? |
We should. Don't think there'll be enough time during, though, so we'll have to figure out where will let us afterwards. _________________ Rush - Warpstone Pile

Speaking of Nova Style, are we going to use a similar pairing system to determine who plays who in the second and third round? _________________ Just call me Mike.

Don't we need another round to match the top two against each other? Or are we going by total battle points after the three rounds? _________________ Just call me Mike.

@Rush, thanks for adding Tim Miller
Regarding special characters, the NOVAOpen WHFB page says: "Special/Named Characters are allowed with the exception of Teclis, Thorek Ironbrow, Kiros Fateweaver, and The Masque of Slaanesh. Powerscroll type items must meet the casting value in order to trigger."
So I know that I'm re-opening something that appears to be decided. . . . but if the "Tournament to Have a Tournament" is sort of a prep for the NOVAOpen, do we want to adopt these NOVAOpen limitations?

Well, poop. I looked for those restrictions and, not looking hard enough to be able to find them, figured they weren't in place.
Also, as much as I hate the Powerscroll type items bullshit, I suppose if I'm going to restrict characters to make it more like NoVA Open prep, I might as well apply that, as well.
Where'd you find it? _________________ Rush - Warpstone Pile
